Oh god no. Please no. If this happens, the NBA will lose every bit of credibility it has left.
According to Hoopshype.com, the Miami Heat are interested in pursuing Knicks F Carmelo Anthony in Free Agency. Here is the quote from their rumors section.
"To be clear, Melo wants to play with Lebron James. And from what I am being told, Lebron James wants to play with Melo. Assuming conditions are ideal for them to do so."
And another quote that should be considered collusion...
"As far as Melo and Lebron are concerned, they would have been together already had Melo embraced the advice from James, one of his friends in the league, back in 2006, to sign a contract in 2007 with an opt-out clause after 3 seasons -- just like James, Chris Bosh, and Dwayne Wade did -- to make himself available for Summer 2010."
This is getting out of hand. The NBA should put some kind of rule in place to stop this from happening because it is unfair to the rest of the league and it ruins the game of basketball.

It's not considered collusion if it's player on player talks. I'm not sure why it's unfair. Or what you think should be done. Tell Melo sorry, a Miami has enough stars we can't let you sign there?

The fact that these players work their contracts so they can join up in Free Agency destroys the credibility of the NBA and makes it hard for teams to retain their stars. It also hurts the league when the best players sign together because it dilutes the prestige of winning an NBA title. It makes them look like cowards and arrogant pricks with their senses of entitlement that makes them think they don't have to work for a Title. On the other hand, though, I have no idea how they are going to get Melo while keeping all three of Bosh, LeBron and Wade without going over the Luxury Tax. It just pisses me off that this is allowed. Its like all the big kids at recess ganging up on the weak nerdy kids and pelting them with dodge-balls.

why don't they just go over the luxury tax? It's not like it would be unlikely for them to get back to the Finals anyways

How would the league do anything about this? I don't get how it ruins credibility. Of course it makes it hard for small market teams. But that's not the players fault. To get championships good players want to play with other good players. Calling them cowards or arrogant I don't get.

Also, someone else made a good point online about it. Who will watch the NBA when no one has a chance to compete with the Heat when all the best players collude and join together. Look how the Heat have been WITHOUT Melo. They have won 2 titles and could possibly win a 3rd. Adding Melo would be overkill and the NBA would get so many boycotts from fans other than Heat fans since no one would care. Once Melo joins the Heat, the winner of the NBA title would be predetermined. The regular season would be absolutely pointless.

Adding Melo to James, Wade, and Bosh? Yes. Again, just look at what they have done without him and think to yourself, what would adding 27 ppg and 8 rpg do for them?

Again, just look at what they have done without him and think to yourself, what would adding 27 ppg and 8 rpg do for them? Except that's not how basketball works. Bosh was a what, 27 PPG guy in Toronto? What's he in Miami? 14PPG? And just watching the championship games, the Heat are not assured a third title now. I think you're blowing this way out of proportion. More so considering it's a big if Melo going to Miami anyway.
