I would have given Miami a C+ at best on this draft, but its nice to see someone thinks they drafted well.

I was told the Bills traded 2015 and 2016 first round picks for Sammy Watkins. That was a lie. It was a 2015 1st and a 2015 4th. That's still a terrible deal, but it's not even close to as bad as what I thought.

AFC WEST: DENVER BRONCOS: Team Grade: C+. Denver managed to reach without really filling needs for next season with the exception of cornerback. No players in this draft wow me, and Latimer was the only thing close to a steal. I do like how they found guys in the late round who fit what they're doing.
Bradley Roby, CB, Ohio State Grade: B- I'm proud to say I got this pick exactly right in my final mock draft, but I wouldn't be as proud if I were Denver, who chose to reach to fill there biggest need. Roby is a raw athlete with a habit of getting burnt and not being able to handle tall receivers. He needs time before starting, and that's not what you want from your first round pick, no matter how late you are in the round.
Cody Latimer, WR, Indiana Grade: B+ Most had a first round grade on Latimer, and if not, he was slated to be taken at the top of the second round. Marqise Lee and Allen Robinson's falls helped push the talented vertical country boy to Denver. His route tree is extremely limited, and he won't see huge production in 2014, but Peyton Manning can make pretty much anyone a superstar.
Michael Schofield, G, Michigan Grade: D+ Schofield is coming off a disastrous senior season at Michigan that saw him totally break down in pass protection. Size wise, he's very lanky for a guard at 6'7''. Most tackles who move in excel at kicking out into space, it's the opposite with Schofield. I don't understand why Denver chose him above the guards who were available.
Lamin Barrow, ILB, LSU Grade: B Barrow plays the role of an undersized run defender in the middle who plays excited and makes a lot of great hits, but he fell because he can't consistently make tackles in the open field. Inside gaps he plays great, so Denver should have success moving him inside.
Mathew Paradis, C, Boise St. Grade: B+ I'm not going to try and interpret scouting reports on center's who I didn't watch, but I've seen nothing but positive endorsements on him. Boise State operates from the gun which makes him more valuable for Denver.
Corey Nelson, OLB, Oklahoma Grade: B- It's not a good sign that I watched OU film and didn't even notice Nelson, but he's got good measurables for a 3-4 ILB and there aren't any huge holes in his game. The grade would be higher if Denver had drafted a position they needed more such as 3-4 DE or RB, both of which they totally neglected.
KANSAS CITY CHIEFS: B. They reached hard with their 1st round pick, and D'Anthony Thomas isn't enough to fill their need at WR. The rest of their picks were pretty good value, and they found a talented late round quarterback. It seems crazy, but Phillip Gaines should have been their 1st round pick, and they could have got Ford in the second round!
Dee Ford, DE, Auburn Grade: D+ With the exception of what he did in shorts during senior bowl practices, Dee Ford didn't sell me this year as a player who should have been drafted on day 2, much less day 1. He's a pass rush threat without a true position or any experience doing much else. It's hard to find a play of him on film other than a third down, and that's the only down he'll play in the NFL. This was the biggest reach of the first round, bar none.
Phillip Gaines, CB, Rice Grade: A Gaines consistently dominated in man and zone coverage at Rice, then he put the icing on the cake by dominating the combine. Rice is 6'0'' but he plays like he's 7 feet tall. There's no deep ball he can't get. Kansas City got an immediate starter on the outside in the third round here.
D'Anthony Thomas, WR, Oregon Grade: B Thomas played more running back last season at Oregon, but he showed explosive potential as a big play wide receiver, and that's what the Chiefs need him to do, along with being a kick returner who could be as good or better than the departing Dexter McCluster.
Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia Grade: B Word is contract negotiations aren't going well with Alex Smith and that Murray will likely start in 2015. That worries me since he'll need to be a perfect pocket passer in the NFL to make up for what he lacks athletically. He may need more time to develop than what the Chiefs want to give him, but he could be the second best west coast QB in the draft, and that's what Kansas City wants to do.
Zach Fulton, G, Tennessee Grade: B+ Fulton impressed for me against top competition in the SEC, especially in pass protection. He'll sit in a phone booth and take on better interior rushers in the NFL. I think he's ready to see some snaps his first season, and that's great from a sixth round pick.
Larent Duvernay-Tardif, OT, McGill Grade: A Don't judge monsieur D-T by his nation of origin, he's the real deal. He's an athletic freak who pushed around Canadian college football players like they were ragdolls, and he's bigger and plays harder than most Americans. A lot of teams are going to regret assuming that this guy was a product of bad competition. Tabernac!
SAN DIEGO CHARGERS: A-. They managed to fill all their needs without reaching, so they get a good grade. None of these players other than Verrett seem like they're going to blow up the league, but they will make a good impact on a team that's ready to contend.
Jason Verrett, CB, TCU Grade: A Verrett has been my favorite cornerback for the majority of the draft process. His size was not a factor in his game at TCU and it won't limit him in the NFL either because he was always in position to make big plays. People who assume he can only thrive in the slot weren't watching, because he almost always played outside at TCU and I project him there for San Diego as well.
Jeremiah Attaochu, OLB, Georgia Tech Grade: A- I love that San Diego traded up to save their board. Even though this was a bit too high, there was a serious drop of in pass rushers who fit there mold at that point. Attaochu was contantly making big plays in the backfield and in coverage.
Chris Watt, G, Notre Dame Grade: A So many teams reached for tackles to kick inside while San Diego took the smart route and drafted one of the best pure interior lineman in the draft, and they got him in the late third.
Ryan Carrethers, NT, Arkansas State Grade: B I love that they got a quality nose tackle this late, but he shouldn't start immediately and the Chargers needed someone who could. I'm also concerned that he's just a space eater and he's not actually helping as much as his measurables make it seem like he would.
Marion Grice, RB, ASU Grade: A- Grice is a quality power back who will not only pace Ryan Mathews, he'll also make an impact of his own in year one. That's great value in the late sixth.
Tevin Reese, WR, Baylor Grade: D I love what Baylor receivers have done in the NFL (Josh Gordon, Kendall Wright, Terrence Williams), and Reese appears to be in the similar mold of Wright and Williams, but at 163 he's one of the smallest players in the draft. That's too small to contribute in the NFL.
OAKLAND RAIDERS: Team grade: B+. The selection of Khalil Mack carries a pretty bad class. Gabe Jackson is a great pick, but a guard won't make a huge impact right away, and I think they missed on quarterback. Late round picks were head-scratching. Oakland also didn't have enough picks to fill their many needs, but not drafting one WR was pretty weird in a draft with great depth there.
Khalil Mack, OLB, Buffalo Grade: A+ The Raiders had the luxury of picking at any need, because they have so many. That lets them take a stud pass rusher who will be playing in Oakland for the next decade. I wouldn't say it's hyperbole to project Mack as the best player on the Raiders roster already.
Derek Carr, QB, Fresno St. Grade: C Derek Carr could prove me wrong, but I've lost all faith I had in him early in the process. He really can't excel against the pass rush, and that's what he's going to face in Oakland, who have one of the league's worst offensive lines. This looks like a recipe for a repeat of what happened to his brother.
Gabe Jackson, G, Mississippi St. Grade: A Jackson is a strong, tough, southern boy who isn't going to get pushed around. He was by far the best interior offensive line prospect left, and the Raiders made the right call picking him.
Justin Ellis, DT, Louisiana Tech Grade: B Ellis plays fast and he's ready for what he'll need to do in the NFL. Oakland wanted Aaron Donald, and Ellis is like a cheaper version without the elite pass rushing skills.
Keith McGill, CB, Utah Grade: C McGill got by because of his size in college, but NFL quarterbacks can make big corners miss in coverage, and unless you're in the right spot, your measurables don't matter. I'm concerned McGill is a long way away from being ready to start.
Travis Carrie, CB, Ohio Grade: D I don't know Carrie at all, but he ran very slow at his pro day and he obviously didn't blow away scouts on tape since he was unknown coming in. Unless Oakland's got some master plan, this pick looks like an addition to a secondary chalk full of players who shouldn't be in the NFL.
Shelby Harris, DE, Illinois St. Grade: C Nobody knows who this guy is! I can't find a scouting report on the guy and obviously I didn't watch him. I really have no comment except that he's got great size. A monkey could have done my job here.
Jonathon Dowling, S, WKU Grade: B+ Dowling is a fast lanky cover strong safety who can get it done in the box, but he also has great range. He looks to play strong safety in the NFL, and he could be a major steal for Oakland.

Juggsyou flipped on Carr that much huh? never seen that before with a complete 180 on a prospect lol. what did you see that made you make such a change to your scouting report on him? I knew when I liked him that he had troubles under pressure, but I was really confident that he could overcome that. It wasn't so much anything he did, I'm just honestly looking at his game against USC and thinking, this guy can't play in the NFL, and he really can't play behind an awful line, one that didn't even draft an offensive tackle, and is relying on Donald Penn to hold the blindside. Remember I drafted Billy Turner with the Raiders and signed some people to improve the line. It's funny that they took the same first two guys I did, but I can't see Carr succeeding any more. I usually stick with my first read on guys, especially QBs, but I flipped this year on Bortles and Carr at various points. I came around to like Bortles, gave up on Carr. Also, a C isn't a total 180, but I don't think he'll be great.

So they did not need an offensive tackle in this draft.

I'm done with this for tonight. I've got time off tomorrow afternoon to finish.
Grading all the picks and reading what the experts saying is fun for me. I like to be watching a Titans game and say "oh, I remember that guy. He's 5'9'' and Justin Hunter's on him? TD."

Slight overreaction IMO. Sounds like what you heard about aldon Smith IMO.
No, he's not Aldon Smith, but me personally I don't think he's a one trick pony. He'll have a year behind Hali and Houston and Develop. We can revisit this ranking in 2016.
