I am proud to be able to say that I graduated from this school and in a place that doesn't tolerate this ignorance.
Yes, you can get arrested for hate speech in Canada.

I didn't hear any hate speech. Must have left that part out.
From what I see, I'm actually ashamed of you saska to be so proud of that. I guess Canada you don't have freedom of speech. Even someone in the back ground said he has the right.
So if you don't believe abortion and gay marriage is right, that is hate to you? Man this world is in trouble.

Sorry, I was wrong with my initial comment. They were not arrested for what they were saying, they were arrested for trying to say it on university grounds when they were specifically denied permission to do so, and then they refused to leave when asked by the security. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/u-s-anti-gay-activist-peter-labarbera-arrested-in-regina-1.2610123/ But hate speech in Canada is against the law and the Canadian government did detain Peter Labarbera at the airport for a short while because he is notorious for organizing anti-gay protests across America. No we don't have the same freedom of speech in Canada. In our charter of rights and freedoms, people do not have the right to try and strip rights away from other people on the basis of disagreeing with their lifestyle. We have every right to disagree with homosexuality, but not the right to protest someone's right to be treated equally on the basis of their gender, race, sexuality, etc. so yes, I am proud.

Okay watched it again. And the guy who got arrested was very peaceful and respectable. I'm almost sick to my stomach that this is happening. I have nothing against gays until they do this. This is okay with you, and what that guy did is not?

This is okay with you, and what that guy did is not? Absolutely. The video didn't show that guys message and the things he stands for. He was there preaching that certain people don't have the right to be treated like other people, simply because of their sexual preferences. If that message sounds ok to you, then I don't have a lot of respect for you in this case. What those men were doing was celebrating their freedom to be who they are. They are not attacking anyone or trying to strip away rights from people. We are perfectly happy watching cheerleaders wear next to no clothing and dance around to the same music, cheering on big, muscly men in tight pants, but because these guys are gay, there is something wrong with what they are doing?

craig440 I am not a big fan of the gay pride parade either, but you are comparing apples and oranges here my friend. The parade is a sanctioned event. If they were just randomly out in public like that there would be a very distinct possibility of getting arrested. They aren't spreading hate they aren't bashing anyone, or telling them they are A bunch of amoral sinners who are going to hell they are essentially just partying. Now the guy who is standing there speaking out against gay people is bashing a way of life likely calling them heathens and sinners and probably telling them they are going to burn in hell for their life style. If I stood on church property with a sign saying that everyone who goes to church is a moron and protesting people going to church cause its a giant waste of time, I assume you wouldn't appreciate it, and I would most likely get arrested for hate speech.

I did not see that guy saying anything of the sort in the video you provided. The gay pride parade here in San Diego has gone way beyond gays and lesbians showing their freedom. It actually gets down right nasty. I mean real nasty. The city of SD was sued by some fire fighters who were made to go. They won their case as to being sexually harassed on the job.
Rodger Hedgecock who was mayor applied for a permit to have a heterosexual parade and was denied. So its okay to have a gay parade but a heterosexual parade is offensive. The world has turned upside down. Like I said gay people don't bother me, but I don't want to even see men and women having sex in public. And at the gay parade they do.
You just like that guy getting arrested because he believes in God. Shame on you. Rethink your position. In America we have freedom of religion, not freedom from religion.

They're both fruity. *PUN* So he says he doesn't agree with their lifestyle. Sort of a silly thing to be considered a crime. Although since Saska reexplained he was mistaken and the fellow was actually arrested because he was asked to leave the school property and refused, that makes more sense. You can come to our church and protest Jindred. We have chili sometimes after church. It's pretty good.

go to about forty eight seconds in. These ladies would be arrested any other time. But people bring there kids to watch this and I can't for the life of me understand why. And Jindred, you said he probably said, probably said. I didn't hear that. He sounded nice to me. Watch it again.

I'll second what Morkin said. You can come protest at my church, we don't care.
