You know though, it is something to watch closely, if RGKnee has taught us anything about mobile QB's and leg injuries. I guess what really matters here is the skill of the surgeon and how fast Cam's body can cope and heal.

I guess what really matters here is the skill of the surgeon and how fast Cam's body can cope and heal. He'll be back and fine by the start of the season. His health is not the issue. It's the lack of training and practice time with all new receivers.

I wouldn't write of the Panthers yet. They still have arguably the best front 7 in the entire NFL on defense. Cam may come out slowly but that means they will have to rely on their running game. If Williams and J-Stew can come into the season healthy they can carry the offense long enough for Cam to get back into game shape.
They will likely take a WR in the first round, so that gives them Avant (one of the most underrated receivers in the game), a young talented player and Greg Olsen who is a very reliable and under utilized TE. Which would give them a decent set or receivers to lean on.
Who is the back up QB anyway?
They are in a tough division that is for sure, as the Saints are still an NFL superpower and will be until Brees retires. Tampa has improved significantly through FA and still have a top 10 pick to use. And Atlanta will be improving with Julio Jones coming back. Another team with a top 10 pick to use. They may finish last in the division but saying their season is over already is absurd IMO.
