I just finished my first fantasy draft of the season... NFL managed, 10 team league on NFL.com... and I was wondering what you guys think of the results. Here's the list of guys I ended up with:
QB - Drew Brees QB - Matt Shaub RB - Ryan Matthews RB - DeAngelo Williams RB - Jonathan Stewart RB - Doug Martin (TB) RB - Ryan Williams (ARI) WR - Steve Smith (CAR) WR - Victor Cruz WR - Steve Johnson (BUF) WR - Austin Collie TE - Vernon Davis TE - Coby Fleener (IND) K - Jason Hansen (DET) DEF - New York Giants
Good? Bad? Average? Let me hear your opinions...

good team. Great depth at RB (not top notch players, though), three nice starters at WR, great QB, great DEF and K. Good TE.
I might package a RB and Martin/Mathews for a top notch guy, though.

I'm discounting you cuz it's an NFL-managed league. It's ok, there is no sure-fire WR1 or RB1 players on your team. Yes, I don't think Smith will be a WR1 and your panther homer shown a bit

Yes, I don't think Smith will be a WR1 and your panther homer shown a bit I know it seems that way, but no homer picks here. Stewart was the best RB available in the later rounds and Williams was added b/c of the crap shoot that is the Panthers backfield. I wouldn't mind an elaboration on why you think Smith won't be a WR1, though...

Steve Smith's 2 biggest games came on the most unlikely of scenarios.... Cam Newton throwing 400 yards in a game twice in a row.
Of his nearly 1400 yards recieving only 476 game from the last 7 weeks of the regular season. The other Panthers WRs are not scary, Smith will have a ton of coverage rolled over onto his side. Think he'll be more of a high end WR2

Breakdown:
QB - You should be completely set here this I don't think you could have a much better fantasy pairing.. Unless you were able to get another top 5 QB which isn't generally easy to do.
RB - Not a fan of your RB's none of them (minus Mathews) are every down backs. They all share carries, and Mathews has a clavicle injury.. never an easy injury to come back from mentally. J stew will have his TDS vultured by Tolbert and he will have passing plays vultured by Williams. Ryan Williams and Doug Martin and unproven. I do like Martins upside. however both I believe will lose TDS to their larger counterparts in Blount, and Beanie Wells. Oh and DeAgelo Williams has been a total toss up he is very hot and cold as well as probably losing his starting job this year and taking less carries.
WR - I think you have a pretty good Trio here. Smith scares me cause of his age and lack of other solid targets to take coverage away from him, but I still think he will be a solid fantasy receiver. Cruz and Stevie Johnson should be good I have nothing but good things to say about them. If Collie gets some chemistry and can stay healthy this year with Luck he could be a wonderful substitute for your other three guys!
TE - Nothing bad to say here well done!
DEF - Giants are sack machines and I think are a great fantasy D
K - Good Kicker.. doesn't really matter cause you can always replace him with a free agent unless you are in a really big league!
All around good draft IMO. RB is my spot of concern in your team! I would have liked to see a real #1 guy!
