Morkim I asked for my grade, not yours Post-draft grade: B Summary: I gave this draft a decent grade because I thought it hit some needs pretty well and did so with experienced, proven players that, while lacking eye-popping physical traits, seemed equipped to play right away. Jones epitomizes that, and while his sack total was a disappointment, given his college reputation, he probably wasn't as bad as some thought. He held up decently against the run and did pick up 25 hurries. He should get better. The impact pick was Bell, who finished the season with 860 yards rushing after missing the first few weeks. A guy to watch is linebacker Vince Williams, who got more than 400 snaps and played pretty well in spots, which is a good get for a gut in the sixth. I also think Thomas can be a player in this league. Not great, not bad at all overall. New grade: B-

I know the Lions got an A. Post the rest please! Post-draft grade: B Summary: Great draft, especially when you include the calls made on Day 3 to snag free agents, which we do here. But to recap, remember the Lions had one of the interesting pivot points in the draft. I thought they'd go either defensive end or cornerback at No. 5. And, although I liked the Ansah pick, I wrote then that Detroit fans will keep a close eye on Dee Milliner, too. Well, Ansah was no star, but he showed a lot of promise (led all rookies in sacks) and Milliner really struggled. So did Slay, whom they took in Round 2, but he has a chance to bounce back, and at least played a lot. Warford (Round 3) was a stud all year at guard, and Taylor (Round 4) provided solid depth at DE. Martin was a fix at punter, plus undrafted LaAdrian Waddle looks like the future at right tackle and undrafted Joseph Fauria was a red zone machine at tight end and seems destined for a bigger role. The draft doesn't end at Mr. Irrelevant, and Detroit showed why. New grade: A I totally forgot about Ansah. Good for him leading all rooks in sacks.

New grade: B- Really excited about Bell, with Munch coaching up the OL I think he's going to have a fantastic year next season and he should see more targets in the passing game as well. Jones I think need to simply get stronger, he has a long lanky body so adding weight shouldn't be a problem, maybe around 250-255 so he can handle OTs. He needs to add some pass rushing moves as well and some counters, speed rushing won't cut it. I'm actually expecting a good bit from Thomas, he should get plenty of playing time next season all over the place at FS, SS, as well as covering receivers. As for Williams, he seems like he can be a solid player but lacks much of a ceiling and doesn't offer much in coverage. He should still get a good bit of snaps in rotation though. Wheaton getting involved next season should help things as well. Thanks for the draft analysis.

Glad I was wrong about Ansah
