Very proud of our guys. Fuck KCs kicker. An a minor fuck you to Andy Reid, although I respect his right to sit guys. Major fuck you to that kicker. He can choke on a dick for all I care. Nah, You still don't sit your starters against a rival when they have been inconsistent the past 6 weeks. I'll commend him for developing/adopting some great depth, but that's it.

Chargers in illegal formation in the fg. No call.
Chiefs strip ball in OT and run for TD, refs say they called forward progress.
Who loses a draft pick for this? Us?

Ryan Clark said he will not be accepting a vet minimum contract. That all but assures he's gone.

The more I hear about this stuff, the forward progress, the FG etc. The worse I feel for the Steelers and their fans. While I still think it's irrational to blame Succop. The Steelers as a whole seem to have been cheated.
The no call on the FG is unexcuseable. And it's laughable that they're coming out and saying 'whoops. We'll write the dude up'. Game changing, Play off changing, terribad missed call.

Game changing, Play off changing, terribad missed call. We don't really blame anyone per say. It's just very frustrating to get so close just to be out of the playoffs again. The only thing I could really say is the Chiefs would have convincingly win if some of the starters were on the field.

Nah, You still don't sit your starters against a rival when they have been inconsistent the past 6 weeks. I'll commend him for developing/adopting some great depth, but that's it. I think it was actually a good idea to rest their starters for 2 reasons...1) the most obvious...fresh legs and eliminate injury risk 2) this one is more hugely overlooked, it gives their starters more time to mentally prepare for their 1st round opponent. They can study film, etc. instead of wasting time focusing on a meaningless game. They're never gonna see the Bolts again unless something really, really sick happens. So if they've been inconsistent the past 6 weeks, I think it has more to do with mental preparation. They played 15 games. The benefit to be gained from that last game is not gonna give them much in terms of 'experience'. That time for the starters would be better spent examining where they are slipping, and how and why their new playoff opponent, the Colts, embarrassed them 23-7 just 2 weeks ago! NO, they shouldn't give them any more bad film to look at. As an aside, any team with a bye should be extremely wary about resting anyone, not for more than a half. Remember what happened to the Packers a couple years ago, and got upset after their 3 week break. Yeah, that was the Matt Flynn game week 17. May have had nothing to do with it, but... Ryan Clark said he will not be accepting a vet minimum contract. That all but assures he's gone. Well, there's one place he won't be going to...Denver. But he really shouldn't have to accept the vet minimum. He has not lost a step, his numbers bear that out. Good FSs don't grow on trees, it's probably the hardest position on DEF in terms of the mental aspect. They get better with age, and he's been healthy for 5 or 6 years, probably missing a Mile High game or 2. He's got another 2 or 3 good years left.

2 years ago, the Titans were 8-7 entering week 17 playing the heavily favored Houston Texans. We were told, win, and you're probably in.
There was only one possible circumstance in over 2600 that led to us winning and not making it in.
We beat the Texans on a goal line stand, and we were competing against four other teams for the sixth seed. All four, Cincinatti, Oakland, Denver and San Diego lost.
Coming in, Cincy was 9-6, and the whole AFC west was 8-7. What this meant was that since every single AFC West team lost except Kansas City, who was irrelevant. Tennessee was forced into a direct tie-braker with Cincy, who had beaten us head to head earlier in the year.
The fault lay with Tim Tebow, who failed to do better than 6 complations for 60 yards on 22 attempts (an all time worst in NFL history), including a game losing INT that he handed the opposing team. All he had to do was score one TD in the game, and it was over. But he couldn't manage better than 22 attempts for 60 yards and three turnovers, sealing my teams fate against guess who?
The Kansas City Chiefs.

Clark racks up the tackles that's for sure. But he has lost a step, he's slow in the back half doesn't make plays on the ball, he'd rather make a crushing tackle which in today's NFL is frowned upon so he lost that part of his game. The Steeler's defense has been set for years to have ambidextrous safeties, where both can play like strong safeties. Well with Clark slowing down even more, they simply have to get more of a traditional FS.
