Where is the media outrage? Oh this one went against us so no one cares. I forgot. Hey maybe this will help our cause in the absurd "draft pick punishment." NAH..... Man, I really think you guys are blowing this out of proportion. It is not the same as Tomlin's offence. Tomlin stepped almost directly into the path of the player running with the ball and had a direct impact on the play. The Miami coach should not have been where he was and deserves to get a fine, but he did not interfere with the play on the field. Now I agree that the Steelers should not have to lose a draft pick for Tomlin's mishap, but you can't put them in the same level. The part that really bothers me is that you are saying he cost the Steelers a chance at points. That is a completely absurd argument. He had no impact on the Steelers scoring points. Had the refs called a penalty , the Steelers had a chance to kick a field goal (no team in their right mind would go for a 35 yard bomb over a 42 yard field goal at the end of the first half), but the coach did not take away a scoring opportunity from you, he almost created one for you. Blame the refs if you want to for not making a call, but what this coach did is not on par with Tomlin's offence.

Blame the refs if you want to for not making a call, but what this coach did is not on par with Tomlin's offence. The inconsistency is the most irritating thing. The coach ran into the ref and he still failed to do his job. Tomlin walked in between the ref and the field at the snap, no warning. Was standing in front of the ref while he was running down the field, no flag. Tomlin nearly gets hit by Jones, still no flag. The NFL contemplating making an example out of Tomlin and this happens a week later, against the very same team looks terribly bad for the NFL. Like I said I would have never noticed the Miami coach unless it was pointed out, even if Brown ran right next to him because fans are use to coaches on the white lines constantly.

Some good things that came out of this game.
The offensive line blocked fairly well through out the game despite both Markus Gilbert and Kelvin Beachum getting hurt through out the game, Beachum coming back in a few games later. Gilbert had a fairly good game before he went down and I didn't notice that many glaring mistakes from Whimper. Cody Wallace had a poor game, but he didn't necessarily cost them the game either. David DeCastro continues rolling out good games.
Antonio Brown needs 18 catches and 92 yards to break Hines Ward's receptions record (112) and Yancey Thigpen's (1,398) single season yards record. If Brown completely half of his average yards for games then he should break Thigpen's record. Ward's will be a bit more difficult.
Bell passed 1000 all purpose yards and had another decent night, it might not look pretty on the stat sheet but he made some nice plays.
The Steelers DL looked very good tonight as well. Heyward continued collapsing the pocket, and Hood picked up the team's only sack against a team that has allowed very little. Al Woods looked like he could be an option at NT in the future if the team resigns him. It would be worth well to get a good rotation of NTs, especially two who would be fairly cheap.
Worilds didn't have a sack but looked to have a few good plays against the run and had some pressures and hits. Vince Williams also had a few good plays against the run and it looked like he was on the field a lot more often allowing Polamalu to play more safety, it's not a coincidence that he had one of his better games as well. Over all the defense played intense in the first half and the offense should some good signs of execution although both sides let off the gas in the second half.

I'd like to see Al Woods continue to start at NT so they can see what he has an decide whether they should resign him or draft a DE/NT. Personally you can't beat experience, especially in this defense not to mention that Al Woods was a player that formally had a 3rd round grade his rookie season and has impressive measurable. I would think that Hood and Heyward at DE and McLednon and Woods rotating at NT would make for a very nice DL, especially if they can develop Brian Arnfelt and Nick Willaims.
Would also like to see Vince Williams get some more looks at ILB, I still don't think he's a long term starter because he lacks sideline to sideline ability, but he could make for a decent back up or even rotate in on occasion.
I'm kind of disappointed to see Derek Moye in active again and Markus Wheaton getting very little looks, this is the time they can afford to give the young guys meaningful snaps. I'd also rather see Shamarko Thomas getting more snaps at FS. Clark has likely lost it, he keep trying to hit people rather than tackle them and he just bounces off, Will Allen has had another mental lapse on the gimme TD to Marvin Jones. Also pretty disappointed that LaMarr Woodley has injured his other calf. The guy's body is breaking down and he should be sat the rest of the season. Personally I don't think his body can carry all the weight he has, he's got to be around the 280s and it's putting strain on his lower body. I'd suggest he works out with someone like Ike Taylor or Troy Polamalu who focuses more on cardio and explosion rather than weight lifting. Polamalu specifically targeted his training to eliminate scar tissue from his calf injuries, obviously it has worked for him.

So see what Woods can do. Looked good last night. And I get you on the rookies getting more action, but we are still mathematically alive so it's not gonna happen. Gotta play the best players for RIGHT NOW as long as we can still make the playoffs. PS I'm loving this Garvin thing. 6-8 and they still hate us. I love it.

A LOT of things would have to go our way to get in the playoffs. I don't see it happening, I'd rather see the young guys get playing time and make sure starters don't get injured. McLendon has done well, he's just a different type of player. However I wouldn't mind seeing McLendon moving around at DE as well. Wood's seems more like that shade/1-tech type of player anyways, McLendon can rotate as a 3-tech as well.

LaMarr Woodley officially IRed with a calf injury... Jarvis Jones will get the start on the opposite side.
