Do not want to get cocky or anything, but I think I am a VERY good FF player. I do a ton of research before the draft and do all of this stuff to prepare.
I am in two "individual" leagues. And in those leagues, I came out of the draft feeling like a winner and primed to be a contender.
Both were 12-team keeper leagues. In one, this is what I came out with:
QB: Colin Kaepernick
RB: Marshawn Lynch (was a 9th round keeper for me)
RB: Alfred Morris (was a 5th round keeper for me)
WR: Wes Welker
WR: Victor Cruz (was a 6th round keeper for me)
TE: Kyle Rudolph
FL: Vincent Jackson
DST: San Francisco 49ers
BN: Eli Manning
BN: EJ Manuel
BN: Lamar Miller
BN: Ronnie Hillman
BN: Bernard Pierce
BN: Malcom Floyd
BN: Tyler Eifert
In that league, I ended up with this:
QB: Drew Brees
RB: Marshawn Lynch
RB: Alfred Morris
WR: Wes Welker
WR: Victor Cruz
FL: Lamar Miller
DST: San Francisco 49ers
TE: Jordan Cameron
BN: Andy Dalton
BN: Darren McFadden
BN: Rueben Randle
BN: Julian Edelman
BN: Eddie Royal
BN: Jared Cook Jr
My starting lineup has top guys everywhere. Brees was 2nd ranked QB. Lynch was top 3 (maybe even 1). Morris was top 10 I believe. Cruz and Welker were top 15 each I think. Cameron was top 5 or so. Miller and Randle were good for me.
Final Record? 4-9.
In the other league, which was PPR and hosted an extra flex spot, I came out of the draft with this:
QB: Colin Kaepernick (was a 5th round keeper)
RB: Alfred Morris (13th round keeper)
RB: David Wilson --- who was primed for a breakout year
WR: Victor Cruz
WR: Dez Bryant (5th round keeper)
FL: Darren Sproles
FL: Giovani Bernard
TE: Antonio Gates
DST: Chicago Bears
BN: Matt Schaub
BN: EJ Manuel
BN: Ronnie Hillman
BN: Mike Wallace
BN: Percy Harvin
BN: Ryan Broyles
BN: Kyle Rudolph
Ended up with the same lineup almost, in which Sproles moved to RB2 and Wallace to a FL spot. Again, had great RBs and two great WRs.
Final Record? 6-7 and missing the playoffs.
=====
Overall, this was a train wreck of a year for me. I put a great product on the "field", but I ended up feeling like the 2011 Eagles. Dream Team, but nothing clicked............at all.
Did anyone else have similar season's with major under-performing?
