I love the Macy's one. My big brother used to take me downtown for it. Great memories, even when it was freezing. Was sad to have to leave in the middle to pick up last-minute groceries. The Pack is looking good. Well, rather the Lions are looking horrible with the turnovers. They should've been up by a lot if not for that, their offense was looking awesome except for a few huge costly mistakes. A very happy T-Day to all and your families. Uh oh, tied game. Looking for downtime to deal with Tom Turkey. Who of you are doing most of the cooking??? Almost no one I'll bet at a foorball forum. hehe Miss Lacy, you doing a turkey? I got one of those little 3-lb Butterball breasts in the packet, no bones, cooks up in 2 hours. Not up for anything more for just 2 people. Doing a souped up StoveTop (yes you can improve it), sweet potatoes, regular taters, steamed carrots, homemade cranberry-orange dressing.

Happy Turkey day. Marlene is making a Turkey, stuffing muffins, mashed taters, green beens, deviled eggs, bisquits. I have to make the gravy. Don't know how. So I'll have to look it up on internet.
Happy Reggie Bush day so far. Have him in most of my leagues.

Happy Reggie Bush day so far. Have him in most of my leagues. I have him in at 2 - both at Yahoo. Needed his help to nail down a playoff spot in both - YAY! 6th place in both - UGH! hehe Stuffing muffins, interesting. I got 2 pans of stuffing for 2 people. His with butter, mine with oysters. Both with corn and sauteed celery and onions. Got some steamed carrots going. Don't know how to make gravy? Heinz does. This little Butterball number comes with a gravy packet I'll add fresh mushrooms to. Man, you could be in trouble from scratch. I messed it up big time first try. Wheat flour, it was very bad news. That was before computers. Good luck and enjoy!!

Craig, you know what's more disgusting than an apple in a turkey? Other than screwing up the gravy (turned out to be irrelevant)? I was visiting my then BF, who was in grad school at U of Iowa. I was still in college in NY and had never cooked anything. So we picked up a chicken. I had no idea there was a bag of innerds and crap, probably wrapped in plastic. Didn't even entertain the possibility of that until...the smell. We wound up starving with nowhere to go. lol My entire meal came out perfect last night, but was still a huge disaster, don't ask, but it wasn't the food.
So I had Bush, Jacoby and Stafford in my Yahoo BC5. The 3 of them combined for 73 pts (83 with DeAndre Levy). And they 3 each got 2 bonus pts for over 100 yds rushing (Bush), return yds (Jacoby) and Stafford (300 yds) too. Would've been an extra 4 on top for each with an extra 20 yds (350) from Stafford, 13 more for 130 from Jacoby, and 7 more for 130 from Bush. Ah well, at least a playoff lock. hehe

We did the Peppermill casino buffet yesterday. (Our usual MO for this holiday. Who wants to cook a big elaborate meal when you can have someone else do it for you? LOL) I had TWO full plates of king crab legs. Not the most traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but damn they were GOOD!

The only thing that will be celebrated is a soccer team's championship victory. If it weren't by you guys and the NFL's three games tomorrow, I would never know that tomorrow is Thanksgiving Didn't some crane destroy a good portion of the soccer stadium yesterday? Saw it on the news last night. They said they gotta get it fixed real fast or they won't be able to hold what I imagine is the equivalent of the Int'l Super Bowl there in 2014. I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving, mine is going to suck, I have to work all day into the late evening, no football or delicious food for me Sucks about missing the football, but working the entire day can beat home alone. I had no family in Chicago. One year I volunteered at a mental rehab house/shelter, carving up many turkeys, plating beautiful meals. Came home and had a turkey TV dinner, that was depressing. I'm sure the TV dinner sucked, but didn't you feel good after volunteering? I've thought about doing something like that but I usually have to work every major holiday

I've thought about doing something like that but I usually have to work every major holiday Yes, the volunteering made the day, was surprised how good it felt. Made the TV dinner a little less sad. Like it's just another day, be thankful you're not on the other side of the receiving line. You still got family, good friends, and a decent job to go back to on Monday (or a job at all these days, right)? Miss Lacy - This is almost 15 years ago, but most of the casino hotels had dirt cheap meals. There was one (I think it was Harvey's or Harrah's) that gave you 2 lobster tails with the regular buffet, also with great seafood, all for like $15 or $20. There were very good buffets (NOT like a Country Buffet chain) everywhere for like $10, and close to gourmet food. A welcome change from the ripoff restaurants at most other top ski resort areas. Would love to go back one day.
