So you play games just because of the storyline instead of their gameplay? Madden NFl must suck for you then Somehow I knew somebody was going to use sports games as their retort.. Sports games should be the obvious exception here. But yes, story modes/campaigns are a big part of why I buy games. And from the looks of it, they are for other people as well. Storylines/campaigns are why Assassins creed is so popular, it's why Far cry is popular.. Diablo, Crysis, Uncharted, Splinter cell, Dishonored, God of war, Elder scrolls.. The list could go on. Elder Scrolls would be in a similar category as GTA TBH.. The storylines are ok but I wouldn't call them anything special.. In Skyrim when you finish a story there isn't really much to commemorate it. Now games like Uncharted, Assassins Creed, GoW those are games I play for storyline. Honestly so far the storyline in GTA 5 has kept me pretty engaged. Not trying to sell you on it JMO.

There is a commentator on youtube who I watch that uploads playthroughs of video games. I watch all his videos just because he's hilarious and entertaining. He is doing a playthrough of GTA V right now, and he's nearly done with it so I know the storyline on GTA V and all.. Just seems like a lot of the missions you have to do are without a purpose imo..

Playing GTA for the storyline is like watching porn for the acting. What's the point of that game then? To run around stealing cars and shooting people online? I'd rather not spend 60 bucks just to do something like that. Isn't that all Battlefield and all of the CODs are about?

Only thing I'll say to that is CoD and BF are military simulators, so at the very least it's justified shootings.

Well you have online where you are working with other players performing heists, or against them in death matches, free roam, racing, and various sports and activities. The story if you haven't looked into it, is about former bank robber who has long been retired and in the middle of a mid-life crisis has to go back to his old ways to get him self out trouble and requires the help of two friends.

Gotcha, thanks. Online does seem like it could be entertaining with friends. Not sure how much fun I'd have playing it alone though. And yeah, I know about the story. I watched a GTA V walkthrough on youtube.

Been working on getting Franklins shooting better at the firing range too! Some of those tests are really tough to get gold on!

I have to agree with THE LAST OF US. That is one great (not good, great) game. There are games that really are like watching a movie that you're in control of...UNCHARTED, THE LAST OF US, MASS EFFECT, RED DEAD REDEMPTION (basically GTA in the Old West - Frickin' Awesome...), ASSASSINS CREED, BATMAN ARKHAM SERIES GAMES, ETC. THOSE are the type of games that really catch me. I'm all for the online stuff too, but I'd rather kick things off with the campaigns first. Usually the COD games, Brothers In Arms Series, etc. are all good stories as well. The GTA games are great for several reasons but really it boils down to ONE THING - GREAT stress release. You can take out your frustrations in the game without going to jail for that s**t
