According to NFL.com, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers called ever other of the 31 teams in the league to try and trade QB Josh Freeman, but they couldn't find a trade partner for him, so they are now going to release him in favor of 2013 rookie Mike Glennon.

Could you imagine being an NFL QB looking at a promising season and by week 5 not only losing your job but realizing that no team in the entire country wants you on their team. I mean even Tebow got 3 chances.

When he's released another team will sign him for the vet minimum. And offsetting salary the bucs will pay the rest of his 8ish million.

yeah he will find a home but its still gotta suck to be a starter then be cut and have zero interest in your present worth.

What I don't get is Tampa fined him like $30k-ish for conduct, but then turns around and pays him over $5M as severance pay when he leaves right after...

I thought this was interesting, now that the Bucs have cut Freeman they officially have none of their players from the 2009 draft
