Clowney - He was the most dominant Defensive Lineman I'd ever seen in college last year. However, this year...he is just not looking the same for some reason...is it just me? He's still causing problems and making the OL focus completely on him...and offenses are running the opposite direction...but it just seems he isn't as dominant this year...he still looks great...but he seems BADLY out of shape. Every time I watch, he's in for 1 or 2 downs, then he is gassed and either comes out or just doesn't even try on the play. It's concerning.
I know I'm a homer...but keep an eye on Arkansas DE Chris Smith. He has 6 sacks in 5 games. He's on pace for 14.5 sacks in 12 games. That would be 1.5 more than Clowney had last year. Smith also had 9.5 sacks in 2012. Clowney is only on pace for 6 sacks this season. Obviously, Smith is not > Clowney. As I said earlier, offenses are staying away from him and constantly double teaming him. OLines can't double team Smith because they also have to stop Trey Flowers who's also a good pass rusher.

More random thoughts.
- The CB class is weak this year imo.
- Been a while since I've seen Isiah Crowell's name. If he's straightened up, there is arguably the best RB in the draft right there.
- Mike Evans is probably the best WR in the country.

I'm just thankful that this draft is deep in potential LT prospects. I don't think my Chargers will be in play for Jake Matthews, but Taylor Lewan, Cyrus Kouandijio, Antonio Richardson and Cameron Irving could be available. They all look like NFL LTs

I think I know Jadeveon Clowney. He's that type of guy who is extremely good at something, but gets bored with things fast and loses motivation because of the repetition. He's very mature for his age physically and psychologically that he's just not excited to play football anymore and isn't having fun. That's why they say he appears out of shape... It's because he just doesn't care and has a very hard time working out for something that he isn't passionate for anymore. Jadeveon Clowney is so athletically gifted, that he doesn't really have to try very hard and put much effort into his game at the college level... Even without working out very hard he can still play at a very good level. I think Clowney will probably end up being a disappointment for this reason. Clowney's a risk to draft in my opinion, just because I think he's going to come into the league, work out hard/study hard at the beginning because he'll be temporarily excited and everything. Heck, he might have a really, really good rookie season. But then after his first season or so, the excitement will wear off and he'll go back to his former self and remember that he doesn't enjoy playing the game very much, and his work ethic will go down, and he won't be the dominant once in a generation DE that everybody thought him out to be. For this reason, I would not draft Clowney in the top 10.. I'd seriously not draft him until mid 1st RD. Like I said, I think he could have a great first year or two, but I am pretty damn confident that his production will decline rapidly afterwards just because he only cares about the money and loses his passion for the game again. No I'm not a fortuneteller, I'm speaking from personal experiences.

MO I was looking at that RB Melvin Gordon who is ranked #39 on the CBS prospect rankings. I REALLY like him, and I want the Rams to draft him. You're the NCAAF guru, so what do you think about him? 1st rd talent?

You're the NCAAF guru, so what do you think about him? 1st rd talent? Hahaha, I don't know about me being a guru. Thanks for the compliment though. Yeah, I really like Gordon too. Great prospect. He's not as fast as some other RBs in the draft, but his acceleration is up there with the best of them. In other words, he's pretty quick and elusive but he has trouble maintaining that speed as the play keeps going. I'd say that's fine though, he's pretty good at breaking tackles too. He still has room to grow is the scary thing. Amazing frame. The first picture is Gordon as a high school player, and the second pic is him now (#25). It's obvious how much he's bulked up. And IMO he could still get bigger without losing his speed. As far as being a first round pick, idk. RBs just don't go in the first round very much anymore. I think from a pure talent standpoint, he's probably the second most talented back in the draft behind Isaiah Crowell (former Georgia RB, now plays for South Alabama) and Lache Seastrunk from Baylor is the third most.

Is it worth pointing out I believe Clinton-Dix has been suspended for the year?

Watching UCLA right now.. Brett Hundley is the truth. What a great QB. Him and Teddy B are the two best QBs in the draft imo.

Sean Mannion...hasn't played any good teams yet...but he's the Best QB in the nation statistically .....if he can keep his #'s up through the UW, Stanford game, then ill believe he'll move up through the draft boards...until then...he's getting no love....even from me.
