Eagles are lucky to still be in first place. The Defense will be the downfall. Very disenchanted with chip right now...but hey...still two games left.

NFC East games are always entertaining, so I would approve. NFC East is always one of the most competitive divisions out there. Whether all the teams are good or they all suck its never clear who is going to win it! Every year it seems like its claw scratch and bite to get to win the division. I don't really like any of the teams in the NFC east but I love watching them play each other. Even if one team is seemingly struggling and the other has been dominate all year the games are usually competitive!

Well no shit. I didn't cite the Encyclopedia Britannica did I? If there's one phrase that's tossed around way to much, it is that.

Brandon Boykin cleared to play after his concussion last week....thank the lord. We need him badly. Earl Wolff will also be back to his rightful place as starting SS. Hes been gone for too many weeks. The Eagles have been the least injured team this season and of course when we finally did sustain injury it was to our weakest part of the team..the secondary.

I couldn't be more thrilled with the hire of Chip Kelly, the promise of what this team is capable of doing, and what this new regime has been able to do already. When you break it all down, it's pretty amazing actually.
Before the season started, not many people even expected the Eagles to reach 7 wins, let alone a 10-6 record to win the division and make the playoffs. I personally expected the Eagles to win anywhere from 8-9 games, and "possibly/maybe" be lucky enough to even squeak into the playoffs. Not many people shared in that little bit of optimism with me at that time.
Well, now that the regular season is over, I think it was pretty amazing.
They now have the new NFL record for 98 plays of 20+ yards in a regular season. You know who they beat out for first place, and the previous record? That 2001 St.Louis Rams offense. The AMAZING "Greatest Show on Turf". That right there is pretty special, considering how explosive that Rams offense was.
Nick Foles. Not many people were expecting a whole heck of a lot from this young man. In fact, he wasn't even the starting Qb to open the season. He was a backup. Well, time has passed, and things have changed. Foles first matched an amazing record of 7td passes in a game with zero int's, ONLY matched by the amazing performance of ("The Great One")Peyton Manning this season. That performance put him into the HOF in his second season. He then goes on to finish the season with the BEST Qb rating of all Qb's in the entire league, including Peyton Manning. That's pretty damn special, any way you slice it, especially considering the season that Peyton has had.
LeSean "Shady" McCoy takes the crown as the top rusher in the entire league, first time an Eagles Rb has done so since 1940 F'IN 9!!! He's been performing with "extra-terrestrial like" jaw dropping ability. I had said that he is playing better than Barry Sanders, since everyone has associated Barry's name while watching Shady play this season. I'll scale back just a bit on that sentiment, for now. No doubt about it though, the kid is special. One of kind type of Rb.
This offense is pretty much in a 3-way tie for 2nd place in points scored this season, only "clearly" behind DEN.
Then there's the defense, who started out one of thee worst, halfway through the season. Most people thought there was NO hope for this defense, THIS season. However, this group has performed a major overhaul. MUCH improved, and actually has stood up in key moments of games to lead us to victory, when the offense wasn't doing so well. CB Boykin is actually in a 3-way tie for 2nd most INT's of all players in the league, with 6 int's, ONLY behind Sherman who has 8. This defense still has a ways to go, and will need some help through the draft and FA, but it's encouraging to see that they're not too shabby a group to start with.
Regardless of what happens here in the playoffs, the Eagles have already surpassed all expectations this season.
