If the cavs don't make the playoffs next year it will be a disappointment. Other than the top 5 teams the cavs may now be the #6 team in the east.
Hell my b__cats may have a chance to make the playoffs in their LAST (yay!!!!!) year. Go hornets!

I don't think the Cavs have any shot at being lower than the #4 seed. They are stacked now. I can totally see Lebron coming back to win in Cleveland after this coming season. Cleveland sports in a whole have done well for themselves this year. Good to see for a fanbase that has been tricked and kicked for years

We cant forget that Bynum missed all of last year so there is no guarantee he will be 100 percent healthy or stay healthy. However assuming he does stay healthy the Cavs have a very good starting lineup and a very deep bench and could potentially do something in the playoffs. Even without Bynum they are still a solid team.

Even without Bynum they are still a solid team. That is why this contract for Bynum was a REALLY smart move by the Cavaliers. They went in knowing what the worst case scenario could be. It happened with the 76ers last year. What they are paying for is if Bynum can meet his potential. If he doesn't, the Cavs aren't in all that deep with it. Best-case scenario, they end up with production they weren't expecting from him in the first place.

The Cavs had to get over the cap floor anyway, so why not waste it for a possible All-Star Center. How many are there in the league besides Bynum? Dwight. He is really the only guy you can say is a difference maker at the 5. Bynum was potentially the best center in the league, depending on who you asked.
Top Centers do not go on the market that often and opt to go to Cleveland, so this is HUGE for us.
Worst case scenario: Bynum stinks up the joint, and we do not pick up the option for next year. Nothing here will affect any plans for the 2014 offseason.
Best case scenario: Bynum plays like an All-Star, and the Cavs pick up his option of TWELVE million, and with a couple of moves, we can sign a MAX player.
To me, personally, this is NO risk, UNSPEAKABLE reward. Not sure how anyone can DISLIKE this move.

Im not saying it is a bad signing, in fact I do think it is a very low risk, high reward signing. I was just simply stating that there is no guarantee he finishes out the season fully healthy. I would give the Cavs 4-6 seed in the east, with the possibility to go far in the playoffs if everyone stays healthy.

Going to address the Bulls from above:
Looking at Monta is stupid. He plays zero defense, is awful handling the ball, and is an inefficient shooter. These are the same reasons that we refuse to re-sign Nate Robinson. While Ellis is better than Robinson, he's not a player you want to invest in.

Thamnk you!As I've been saying in this thread I really wanted them to sign O.J Mayo, but it's too bad he signed with the Bucks.I think if we did sign him,we'd have the best team in the East-including the Miami Heat
