They shouldn't be punished or anything. But FFS have some common sense. Hernandez may be their friend but he is also a lunatic, this just makes them look like idiots. This is a simple case of lack of common sense, would be better off keeping their opinions to them selves. A display of the absolute idiocy. A cocky, rich, young brothers that come out with something so damn ridiculous. Why would you 1) want to be associated with this murderous dirtbag - sorry, I've already convicted him between Lloyd, the double homocide, and the guy he shot in Florida. I'm sure he's guilty in at least 2 of the 3, if not all 3 and more he haven't heard about. Do the Pouncey boys want Hernandez to 'go free' without even a trial where he will surely be convicted, beyond the most remote shadow of a doubt IMO. Are they supporting this gangland style execution and everything else Hernandez with a 14 year old mentality has allegedly done for a ridiculous reason? Will either of them ever get any kinda endorsement deal (not that they would have). No! Forget the endorsement, double shot in the foot - but how will this fare in their NFL future (especially Maurkice (sp???) in PIT - in a potential contract year?( ) It is so incredibly stupid beyong words, when they have zero power to affect a change or difference. Either of these a-holes would have been cut instantly sporting, no flaunting a cap like that if they were Pats. Given the importance Pouncey has to the Steelers (same goes for Mike P in Miami. If they were just as important in New England then there is very little chance they would be cut. The NFLPA would be on their ass. Some other Steeler fans hypothesized that Pouncey twins were wearing the hats to answer Hernandez's no bail, others have said they may have been given the hats at the party. But are still ridiculously stupid on their part if true. Should they be punished? No. But I would hope the Rooneys and Tomlin will have a sit down with him and tell him that this sort of BS better disappear and he must make a public announcement including that he does no longer support Hernandez and gives his best wishes to the victims.

Just cuz you've been given these hats, doesn't mean you have to wear them. No, they shouldn't be punished of course, 1st amendment rights. But any team's front office has got to see this as a character concern. There is absolutely no benefit for them to do this. If they are simply supporting their 'homeboy' in what looks to be an open and shut case at this point, it raises serious questions. Any team would see this as extremely bad judgment at best. All the Pouncey's had to was nothing. I wouldn't be so sure on the Pats not cutting either of them. They are in a tough spot team/win-wise. They've finally fallen upon hard times IMO, and need a good defense. But this would be a slap in the face of the Pats org, which is a way harder slap than any other team in the league. The scenario would never happen. They can't get Gronk to say 2 words about him at his book signing. But even if Belichick didn't fire them outright, they would never be back the next year. It's making a mockery of the Pats cutting Hernandez that quick.

No, it doesn't mean he shouldn't feel obligated to apologize to the fan base. As for the hypothetical, if Pouncey was a Patriot and they cut them. Wouldn't the NFLPA crack down on them?

IDK what that is, public assistance? ;-P No, he wouldn't be obligated to apologize to the fan base. But if he had half a brain, and I now think the brothers might be sharing one, he would know the Pats view this as blatant insubordination alikened to treason, much less a 'character issue'. Anyway, it's all hypothetical. If I were one of the Pounceys, I'd come out and say "Sorry, I was drunk out of my mind" before supporting AH.

NFLPA = Player association, their basically a player's union of sorts. And it's very possible that the Pouncey twins were drunk. People do tend to do stupid things drunk, that they usually wouldn't sober so... Anyways Pouncey tweeted an apology. "I fully recognize the seriousness of the situation involving my former teammate, and I regret that my actions appear to make light of that serious situation. I apologize to anyone who was offended by my actions," Hopefully Pouncey isn’t out of Tomlin’s dog house yet. I would hope coach Tomlin will ride him hard in training camp. Maybe repeatedly yell Free Pouncey a couple of times when he doesn't up hold the standard in camp.(reminiscent of what Tomlin said time to die to Chris Rainey), because by the time he is done at camp he will feel like he was incarcerated.

No a team couldn't fire either of them for doing that unless a criminal act was also involved. Being a dumbass isn't illegal in America, though somedays I wish it were. Now that's not to say it's going to cause bad blood and bad P/R to where they start looking for valid reasons to let them go, but that's a bit extreme imho. I think they both get sat down and talked to and stern warnings about what their individual organizations expect from them but no more than that. If the league was able to pass a rule that no player could represent Hernandez gear due to the atrocities he's created, then maybe then, and to be honest, I think it's a rule the league should pass to show it's position on this type of mentality.
Bunch of little boys with money playing gangsta...It's like year by year the integrity of the players keeps slipping away. In any normal year just having what happened with Titus Young would be ludicrous... That's not even the worst thing THIS YEAR.
