I think it will be beneficial to get Irving a sniff at the playoffs this early in his career. Remember now, he is still only 21 years old going into his 3rd season.
I think Deng legitimately helps Cleveland at their last hole. Deng is what CLE needs - a lockdown defender who can be relied on and play big minutes. Not to mention Deng is a pretty good shooter. If CLE can get Deng for the 19, 31, and 33, I would do it, as we need veterans to lead the way.
As for Pierce, he will basically be a rental for a year. He has the passion many crave, and Irving will learn a LOT from Pierce.
I think Cleveland can get a 6,7, or 8 seed with Pierce or Deng along with whatever they do with the first pick (whether picking or trading).

What do I want?
Well, I heard MKG is on the block (though it has been shot down in recent hours). But, lets say the rumors are true about him being on the block. CLE trades no.1 and 19 for MKG and no.4
Draft Len or Noel with the no.4, and suddenly here is CLE's starting lineup:
Irving, Waiters, MKG, Thompson, Noel/Len/Varejao

What is realistic?
Not sure. There are SO many rumors being thrown around, but I am sure CLE does SOMETHING. We will not go from bottom feeders to contenders like that. We need to take our time, as the core of our team are 22 years of age or less.

What about Andre Iguodala? He seems like a pretty good outside defender, and a solid shooter. They could still trade down and get either Len or Noel, and another prospect.
I was hoping they could get Kevin Love, but it seems like that isnt much of a possibility any more. Irving and love could be a dominate combination for years to come.

I think Cleveland is looking for a one year rental player, and there is no way AI takes a one year deal, although he would be a good fit.
