So everything just magically appeared from a dense mass that just expanded and created the universe? That makes more sense than God creating it? Actually, yes.. I personally think it does.

Yet, dinosaurs roamed this earth over 200 million years ago... A case for their existence is that oil came from the organic remainders of animals and plants in the bottom of lakes and seas millions of years ago.

Please don't tell me you're going to try and deny the fact that dinosaurs existed... They existed. Just not NEARLY that long ago. Yes they did. The beginning of the age of dinosaurs, the Triassic Period, started about 230 million years ago. Dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago. And I still didn't get an answer on the original question... If god created plants, animals, water, air, etc. at the same time he created man, why were dinosaurs, water, and plants on Earth 200 million years before man existed?

It makes AS much sense and can be explained. The Christian account of God cannot. Where did God come from? We don't know. He was just there... But I see what you and bigD are saying that I can't say "so it just magically expanded..." when God was just "there". It can't be explained. It is 100% theory that scientists put together because they wanted to figure out their existence and prove it. And they know they can't prove the existence of God so they don't believe in Him. So they came up with the Big Bang to try and disprove Him. The Big Bang theory wasn't trying to disprove anything. They came up with it as a theory on how the universe was created. It is a plausible explanation that can be explained not entirely proven but explained. God is an explanation that can't be explained hence why there is so much question in how people can blindly follow that faith and believe in everything it says! There is more evidence to prove dinosaurs than there is to prove there was even a Jesus. There is evidence to disprove portions of the old testament as well as the story of Jesus is almost a mirror image of religions that came thousands of years before his birth. I am 100% fine with people believing in the religion but my problem comes when it affects other people who aren't involved in it. Things like Gay marriage.. there is absolutely no reason why it shouldn't be allowed!

I'll have a nice post on this from a far liberal Christian perspective in an hour or so. Should be fun as very liberal Christians are not too common.

well this is gonna be a pretty strong thread. however over time, its only fair to start being more honest with each other on some of this stuff, regardless of what it is
i usually go to church every sunday, unless im working. im not nearly as strongly connected to being a christian as my dad or sister is. however i do not believe everything in the bible either, because it says unless your baptised, you will go to hell, which i STRONGLY disagree with. i think doing good deeds in life is what matters still. of course whenever i try to tell that to my sister or dad (especially my sis) they always make me look stupid for what i am
but i do believe there is a god, because i believe in ghosts, spirits, and demons. if they exist, so does god IMO.
ive probably said this before, but when i was still 3 years old, and we moved into a new house in ohio, i had unexplainable nightmares, and my family said they say things that they couldnt explain. yet when my dad puts up a cross of jesus in the house, everything all of a sudden stops? i think that should be saying something......

Aren't ghosts good and demons bad? I don't believe in either anyway. Angels & Demons by Dan Brown = book about Illuminati and the Vatican, one of my favorite books

@bigd: I didn't answer your question because dinosaurs didn't exist hundreds of millions of years ago...I don't believe they existed more than 7000-8000 years ago...10000 at the absolute most. And Jindred: Well obviously there's evidence to prove dinosaurs...lol. There's been fossils discovered everywhere. I'm not arguing their existence. I'm saying they didn't exist hundreds of millions of years ago like many believe. And most people believe that Jesus existed. His existence has been documented in many more documents than just the Bible. And with gay marriage... it is my belief that it is a sin just as bad as any other. Just like murder, theft, etc...and just like I think those should not be allowed. I think gay marriage should not be allowed. I love gays just like I love every other person. And I hate the sin just like I hate any other sin, my own sins included. I really didn't want to say anything about this subject, but I will say this short bit.

it says unless your baptised, you will go to hell, which i STRONGLY disagree with. No no...it most certainly does not say that. Some denominations believe that...like Catholics...but I don't. I think if you're a Christian, you SHOULD get baptized...but if you don't...you're not going to hell because of it... By the way...in case anyone was wondering...I'm Evangelical.
