I got 11/18, better than 95% of Americans... I'm pretty happy with that, especially considering I'm not American and do not live in America. I wasn't sure about some of the questions about specific US statistics and got most of them wrong. But my bias was 2.78%. I'm really proud of that one. Did you read how they got that stat? It's sort of interesting. Yeah it is very interesting.

I got better than 60% and I dont pay THAT much attention. I didnt see the bias stat.. I assume I was fairly bias to the democrat party.

On a scale of 0-100%, your total political bias was 0%. Great work! About 20% of test takers also got this score. 50% of people get a score between 23% and 58%. The average score is 40.82%. I got 8 questions right, but I put we don't know for the Global Warming one and it was counted wrong. I call BS. We have no idea lol.

They provide a link in the response showing why an overwhelming scientific consensus explains how human activity has impacted our climate. We may not understand the full extent of the impact, but anthropogenic climate change is real.
The whole point of the bias test is to see how people think based on their political leaning. Typically more republicans are likely to think things like climate change and evolution are not really supported yet; that they are just theories not backed by real data. By the same token, many liberals are more likely to think GMO's are just poisonous chemical garbage and are unwilling to acknowledge the negative aspects of social welfare or the positive aspects of free market capitalism. The answer key offers links to support each of the answers that they provide though.

I know it's football season, but it's also election season. Matt Taibi, journalist and author of my favorite book ever, The Divide, just endorsed my main man Bernie Sanders. His piece in Rolling Stone magazine is AMAZING and is a must read for all Bernie fans, democrats, republicans and human beings. You can learn more about what really goes on in the media and in our elections reading this than a college education could get you. www.rollingstone.com/politics/news/the-case-for-bernie-sanders-20151103

Tim Wolfe stepped down. Football does some good for Missouri. Dude was a dumbass, eh JuggsI FLIPPED when I heard this. I'm so excited for Missouri honestly. It just shows that popular movements are much more power than people think. And it wasn't just footbal that got them there either. What isn't being reported is that a huge chunk of teachers and faculty also went on strike. And you probably heard about the 1000s of students gathering in rallies and the full week long hunger strike from the grad student. I don't know anything about Tim Wolfe other than one very stupid comment he made. A student asked him: what is the definition of systemic oppression? His response was: "When a group of people think they don't have the opportunity to succeed." Terrible, terrible answer for a guy already under apparent scrutiny. It's like victim blaming. I kind of get that he didn't mean it that way. He was speaking with that nonsense second person passive tense that fancy elitsts (and all nfl head coaches) use. It's like when a coach says "you have to have a quarterback to win" talking to a group of reporters... they don't need a QB... the coach does. He should saw "we" or "I" or "the team". This would show ownership and not cause these kind of problems. That kind of bullshit, vague speech flies in pro sports, but it shouldn't and this is exactly the reason why. When its used in a negative like that, whether the speaker means to or not, he's blaming the listener. As I understand it, the president himself was a figurehead of the incredibly racist administration. Again, I don't mean bigoted. I don't claim to know these people, so how could I know, right? But when you see shockingly low black admissions percentages and outreach for non-athletic programs, and when you see non-responses from the university after hate crimes, and then the president paints a target on his own back, I'm just glad some progress was made. The biggest takeaway is that this can't be the end for black activism at UM or anywhere else. Too often, white America likes to assume that when any civil cause celebrates a win, the entire fight is over. That kind of thinking got us Shelby V Holder. Taking out the school president is a good first step, but it won't improve much unless black activism is a constant political force on campus. And if anyone thinks that's a radical idea, consider this: would you complain about any other advocacy group for any other minority status? Veterans? Gays? Your religion? Your political view? No, you wouldn't. But black activism gets branded as militancy routinely based on nothing. The Black Panthers are known as a terrorist organization in the United States by most white people. That's a damn shame. They were and still are one of the most righteous political advocacy groups out there. They and most other black advocacy groups have been wrongly demonized.
