The difference between an 'elite' guard and a normal guard is very minimal. They just don't impact the game well enough to be taken in the 1st half of the 1st round. Anyway, KC actually found a trade partner for one of the OTs (probably at a reduced value since it's a weak class) or they are going to take Geno because Reid loves to groom QBs. It sounds stupid but this is the guy who just traded a 2nd for Alex Smith and a conditional pick next yeat sooooo who knows.

there must be a mystery team that wants to trade up for that #1 pick. however who would want to trade up, when this is realistically a very weak draft? assuming the chiefs stay at #1, the only logical choice right now seems to be sharrif floyd or chance warmack. taking a OG at #1 would be a complete waste though, when you can just move brandon albert to OG or draft joeckel and move him to OG albert isn't moving to guard. and, why is drafting chance warmack a waste since he's a natural guard and drafting luke joeckel and moving him to guard isn't? i don't understand why people doesn't think guards can't be taken that high. that's like saying defensive tackles can't be taken high too OT is the money position on the OL. OG is not. i think C is more important than OG. too add to this, an OG has NEVER been drafted with the 1st pick in an nfl draft EVER. OGs just dont go very high in the draft. if they take warmack over floyd IMO, it wouldnt be worth it.

Andy Reid loves QBs and is good at developing them. Alex Smith is not going to be around for too much longer (given his talent level, I don't expect him to start for much longer past 30) and isn't the long term answer at QB. I think he will stay in Philadelphia long enough until whoever Andy drafts passes him up on the depth chart. He has two more years on his contract which makes him an ideal "bridge" QB.

I can only hope the Chiefs take Geno and Joekel falls to 3, cause that's the only realistic chance we have at trading down.
As for bringing Bowe back, that's the best move they have made this offseason by far.

So if Joekel falls to 3 ya think the Raiders will trade with the Chargers? Naw I really, really, doubt it. LEL those nasty Raiders wouldn't do anything to help us.

Smartest thing the Chiefs could do right now is trade out of the #1 spot. Get a first this year a first next year and a second this year! They get their second back for Smith and they add another pick next year! If St. Louis got what they did for the 2nd pick last year KC should be able to rack up a bunch of picks for #1!

KC is trading down, and if they can't then it's one of the 3 tackles.
