oldmanfootball pulls first upset in the NIT tourney, also advances to sweet 16 was it really an upset? pretty sure most GYers regard him pretty highly but he hasnt posted in forever. he hasnt even made 10 posts on here, and hasnt been on nfl.com is a long long time it dont matter how highly respected you are in the past, because that doesnt determine your seed. its "what have you done for me lately" that gets you a good seed not only that, due to gohara being on the GOOD side of the bracket, alot of people didnt vote for him because most of the people on here still view him to be in the TROLL category

It kinda does matter. Most GYers are friends with OMF and would probably vote for him if he hasn't posted on here or the forums in 2 years. They have their own seperate place to communicate. Play in a ton of leagues together and they respect him. He has their votes over somebody they hardly know.
The poll logged 20 votes, how many GYers were a part of that vote? I expected OMF to win despite the seeding because of who is on here and voting. Just because you have a bad seed, doesn't mean beating a higher seed is an upset. There are flaws in the system and everyone will have a different opinion on how someone should be seeded.

how is that a flaw in the system? you cant rank people, just because they havent posted in a while? thats like saying the steelers should get the top seed every year because they won 6 superbowls or the packers should get the top nfc seed because they won 13 championships
ive never even talked to the guy before, so i didnt even realise he was that popular. its being done traditionally like it is in the ncaa tournament. kentucky won it all last year, yet they will be lucky to make it this year because they suck so bad.
your seeding SHOULD determine what you did lately, not your whole years. your whole years is another story and if your wanting to vote someone because of that, then be my guest. but he hasnt been on that much, so he is gonna get a low seed

Seeding is done by opinion and everyone's opinion is different. There's gonna be a flaw in every system but that is not the point. Just because one guy has a higher seed than the other and loses doesn't mean it's an upset. Think back a couple of years went Cassel lead the Chiefs to a division title and the playoffs. They lost to the lower seeded Ravens. Was that really an upset? Nope, many thought they would lose in that game anyways.
Considering OMF's past history and how some ppl view gohara. Some could of considered OMF as the favorite to win this poll and not the underdog. How can the favorite pull an upset?

In my opinion you are taking this to serious. I feared some may get their feelings hurt. Lets try and not go there. And for what its worth Oldmanfootball had a stroke and got in a car wreak during it. So him not posting is a concern to us who do care about him. The results of these games is meaningless in real life.
So I hope everyone just takes it as fun and doesn't get any feelings hurt.

That is why I originally thought it was strange to have him in the contest. I don't know gohara very well but voted to have him join our forum here. I think he has stuff to offer. But OMF has been my friend for about three years and was a great ff player and participant. We all wish him the best of health and a full recovery.
