I probably won't actually buy it until they stop making the good new games for the PS3. Same as how I waited for the PS2 and PS3. I am still gonna make a PS4 fund though so when I buy it I can start out with a few good games as well!

awww man I just got myself a PS3 i got one a couple of months ago (black friday - great deal). do not feel left out though, the PS4 will cost a LOT most likely (would not surprise me to see it in the 600-700 range) According to this report, it will only cost about $400 (and I say "only" b/c the PS3 released at $599). Also, just for entertainment purposes for those unaware, here is the confirmed prototype for the new PS4 controller

This one has a touch pad and a move sensor!

Also it's a developers PC in the video, you can tell by the extra ports, and it appears to be another Blu-ray driven device, if you look at the top right at 0:09 you can see the external blu-ray burner. It's a Plextor burner, so I'd say its going to capitalize on backwards compatibility for the PS3 at least. I wish I could see the name on the chassis to figure out more of what the specs are, but one can only see so far in a paused video. I don't see the point of having move control on a standard controller, one is reminded of the 6 axis failure the ps3 had. The controller seems a little to bulky for sony too, so I'd imagine a slimmer, more traditional controller. If it ain't broke don't fix it. The touch pad is another question mark for me, unless you would be able to use it like a traditional laptop touch pad, but even then you have 3 other modes of control and that seems redundant. But again, this is a prototype, and the final product will and should be better refined.

Well, what wonders a clear picture can do. I was wrong about the blu-ray burner, and have found a much better image of the scene bigD shared with us. Still can't see what I was looking for on the chassis haha.

One more thing, and this has to do with the Anti-Used-Game patent sony filed early in the year: www.nasdaq.com/article/five-reasons-why-playstation-4-will-play-used-games-cm203974#.USRuZqXdJUQEveryone should read this, and get an idea about the situation, incase it does arise. Like the article says, it might be a way to circumvent it from happening, like "We will buy the technology and make sure it's never used" sort of like oil companies do to a lot of non-petroleum vehicles and alternative energy sources.

But again, this is a prototype, and the final product will and should be better refined. There have been complaints that the mainstay design is too small and cramped for many with bigger hands and that may be a reason why they would consider bulking it up a little. Personally, I've never had a problem with the Dualshock design, but I have used an Xbox controller and found it to be slightly more comfortable. I bought a Logitech wireless controller for my PS2, which was a more bulky than the original Dualshock, and I fucking loved it. Expect the bulkiness to appear in the final product. Plus, it has concave analog grips! That's a HUGE upgrade over the original (at least to me, anyway) And as far as the touchscreen goes, I'm going to call it now and say that it will serve mostly as an access to the XMB, like how the XMB is represented on the PS Vita. For such a small screen, that's the most logical use I can think of right now.
