So you can't play shooters, and you don't want sports games? In that case, have you ever played Infamous? I'd recommend that. Other games that are really good that aren't shooters or sports: Uncharted Sly cooper Tomb Raider Dishonored Kingdom Hearts
I'm probably gonna buy Dishonored after I beat the AC series. What is Kingdom Hearts about? Sly Cooper? Dishonored story line:You play as Corvo Attano, a body guard serving under the Queen of Dunwall city. There is a plague infecting Dunwall city, so the Queen asks you to go on a journey to find an aid for the plague. The game starts as you are returning to Dunwall. You go up to see the Queen to tell her about your journey, and all of a sudden these men appear out of nowhere and kill the queen, and after they kill her, they flee the scene. After the real killers flee the scene, other servants of the Queen come up and just see her lying dead, and you're the only one around. They all assume you are the Queen's killer, even though you're innocent. Without giving away too many spoilers, a group of shady loyalists help you escape prison, and then with their help, you go on missions to take out all of the corrupt officials that have taken the Queen's place, and avenging her death. ____________________________________________________ If you like Assassin's Creed, you'll love this.
Sly Cooper story line: Sly Cooper is a series that I started as kid, and just stuck with it. Each game has different story lines, but they are all direct sequels to each other. I'll just say what the first one is about, and you can decide on it from there. If you like the first, you'll definitely like the others, but if you don't, it's probably not something you'd be interested in. Out for revenge, Raccoon master thief, Sly Cooper, must track down The Fiendish Five, the five evil-doers who murdered his family and destroyed his life. Along with this, these criminals stole the sacred Cooper family text, the Thievius Raccoonus. This book, which is passed down through the generations of Cooper thieves, has been torn up into five segments, one part given to each villain. And it's Sly's job to take down those villians and recover the Thievius Raccoonus! _____________________________________________________ This game is a bit more for kids imo, it's still really fun though.
Kingdom Hearts story line:
My favorite series out of these three, actually it's probably the best game series I've ever played. At least it's my favorite. I couldn't find a good synopsis of it online, so I'll just write my own. (Fwiw, I wrote my own synopsis for the Dishonored explanation too) You play as Sora, a teenager who, with his friends Riku and Kairi, are stuck on an island. They are desperate to get off the island and go see other worlds, and have made a raft to set sail to do just that. The night before they're about to set sail, the island is attacked by these things called "Heartless." They can destroy worlds by swallowing it in darkness, and despite Sora, Riku, and Kairi's best efforts, the island is eventually covered in darkness and they are all thrown into different worlds. At the same time, Sora obtains this weapon called the Keyblade, which is the only way to save the world from the Heartless. Each world has a door that the Heartless enter through, and you need to seal it with the keyblade so no Heartless can come in and take over that world. At the same time Sora's island is being destroyed, in another world, King Mickey (this is where the Disney characters come in) has gone missing, and it's up to his servants, Donald Duck and Goofy, to go find him. King Mickey asks Donald and Goofy to find the keyblade user (Sora) and stick with him, help him "lock" all the doors that the heartless are entering through. Basically, you travel to different worlds (some examples are Agrabah from Aladdin, Olympus from Hercules, and Neverland from Peter Pan) with Donald and Goofy to "lock" the doors in those worlds. ______________________________________________________
Trust me, I know it doesn't sound that great from reading it. Disney characters in a game like this? Doesn't seem like it's that great of an idea, but trust me, this game is the definition of "don't judge a book by it's cover..."
Despite all the Disney stuff, it's not really a kids game. It has a rather dark storyline to it. I mean, kids can play it and enjoy it, but it's not just for kids. It really is a game all age groups can really enjoy. "It was a dominating presence in the 2002 holiday season, receiving numerous year-end "Best" video game awards, and went on to achieve Sony "Greatest Hits" status. Since its release, Kingdom Hearts has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, and has prompted numerous sequels. Kingdom Hearts is currently the ninth best selling PlayStation 2 game of all time and the most commercially successful entry in the series to date."
I'm a bit of a fanboy if you haven't noticed.

Wow thanks. Kingdom Hearts sounded pretty cool....until you got to the Disney characters..haha...I might give it a try if I ever get around to it. Dishonored sounds like a very cliche plot, but I definitely want to play it. Sly Cooper doesn't sound like my kind of game. Doubt I'll ever get around to it...when I get a PS4, I'm selling my PS3...I probably won't get one for several months though...maybe sooner...IDK...but I still have 3 ACs to beat, InFamous 2, The Last of Us...I must play all of those games before I get a PS4...then I'd LIKE to get around to Tombraider, the Batman games, Dishonored, and the God of War series...IF I get all those beat before I get a PS4, I'll probably give Kingdom Hearts a try...then I might try Sly Cooper, but I doubt it. I'd also like to play the Crysis series maybe..

All I can do is repeat myself though, you just can't judge the book by it's cover with this one. Agree with Dishonored being a bit cliche, but it's still awesome. And yeah, I won't be getting a PS4 any time soon either. Not that I don't want to, but there are so many great games that I have to play before I make the jump. Crysis is really good, but you wouldn't be able to play 1. Crysis 1 only came out on the PC. A Crysis 1 PS3 version was a preorder bonus for Crysis 3, but if you didn't preorder Crysis 3, there is no way for you to play Crysis 1 on the PS3. What I'd do is just watch a Crysis 1 walkthrough on youtube or something to get the story, and then go out and by 2 and 3.

I don't understand why I can't play Crysis 1... It didn't come out for the PS3. Only came out as a computer game back in like 1999. A downloadable version of it was released as a preorder bonus for Crysis 3, that's the only way you can get it on the PS3. Edit: LOL, woops. I see the mistake I made. Sorry about that.

Has anybody played Heavy Rain? or Journey? I have played Journey, and I really don't get the hype on it. It is boring and its like a 20 minute game.

saskabronco: Do you play video games? I haven't seen you post in this thread, but you liked my comment about Uncharted...so just wondering. I sure do. Though I have gotten much busier lately and haven't played as much. I am most into sports games, though I don't have anything really recent. I love NHL '13 and Fifa '13, but haven't upgraded either yet. I have recently gotten really into playing NCAA '12... haven't taken the time to update that yet either. As for other games, I still play all the Uncharted and Assassins Creed, as they come out and I haven't been disappointed by either. I played a bit of the new Tomb Raider and liked it, but I was borrowed it from Jin and he was eager to trade it in for a new game and I just didn't have the time to finish it, so I just gave it back to him. I used to play COD games, but I haven't played much since Black Ops 1... I loved that one, especially Gun Games, but I haven't really played them much since. I am also a fan of old school games from old systems. My fiance and I together own a PS3, Wii, N64, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, GameCube and Nintendo DS. I am also excited because I just got an android phone so I am able to get emulators and play all sorts of old school games.
