Hi COC and steelersfan4life. Just checking in to see how Jarvis Jones is doing. I had a really big crush on him pre-draft, I really wanted the Rams to draft him. How's he doing? He's had the typical rookie struggles, but otherwise, he has been improving as expected. He hasn't been getting nearly the hype Le'Veon Bell has, but it seems like he will make some contribution next year as a situational Pass Rusher and/or split time with Worilds at ROLB. Their have been plays in Training Camp with both Worilds and Jones on the field at the same time at ROLB and LOLB respectively with Woodley on the sidelines. Other than that, I haven't heard too much about him.

BeastifiedMy mistake, he was moved to LOLB with Worilds at ROLB with Woodley on the sidelines. He J.J. Watt-ed Big Ben on one memorable play where he batted a pass at the LOS and took it in for a Touchdown.

The Steelers have signed former Cardinals LT D'Anthony Batiste who started 10 games last year. Curious move considering he was pretty much the worst Pass Protector in the NFL last year.

From Pittsburgh-Post Gazzette's Ed Bouchete:
Tomlin putting #Steelers through type of practices that haven't been seen in camp in 25 years, not since Chuck Noll
The Steelers are tackling in practice, and not just in the annual goal-line drill that ended the workout Saturday. Mike Tomlin has run them through live 11-on-11 drills at least once each day, starting Monday when they pulled on the pads for the first time.
That is old-old-school, something Bill Cowher did not even do. You would have to go back to the 1980s to see that many real, live tackling practice sessions when Noll's players wore no numbers on their jerseys and twice-daily practices were common.

One thing is for sure, we will have the toughest and best tackling team in the league. I just hope this doesn't hurt us health wise, they seem to be giving some players days off to help with that. Mainly Woodley, Polamlau, Keisel, Jones, Bell, possibly Worilds, and some others I may have missed.

Apparently Pouncey weighed 285 the last couple of seasons and is up to 300lbs for this season. Wow that seems extremely light for an NFL linemen. I was expecting more along the lines of 305-310lbs.
That's kind of impressive that Pouncey has been playing so well at such a low weight.

It could turn out to be a good depth move as he does have significant starting experience in the NFL.

Apparently Tomlin has been trying to get across to his players the idea of having to play through minor injuries, so I guess you could say he is toughening them up more than they have been in years.

Shit, Curtis Brown down with an ankle injury. Allen better come back at full strength fast.
