Free agency
Prized Free agent signing: RB Steven Jackson.
Jackson comes over from the rams with veteran leadership and as a replacement for Michael Turner, he can be both a speed back and a power back he can make the same impact that Turner did when he was first a Falcon.
Other notable signing: DE Osi Umenyiora
Osi comes in to replace John Abraham after age started catching up to him and he wasn't worth his contract. Osi brings leadership and a good edge-rusher to the table as he is as good at what he does. He should make an impact.

Preseason stories
Week 1: Well the debut vs cincy was really good for the starters going up 3-0 on their first drive, but the backups stunk up the place getting outscored 34-7. But the score does not matter in preseason, what matters is the performance of the players, and there were some bright spots in the game and I hope to see them produce again week 2 against baltimore. If they do produce again, they could end up on the practice squad or even the active roster.
Week 2: The starters once again outscored the other side, 10-7 against the ravens but the backups lost again 13-20. The score doesn't matter, but the performance does and I am glad that the starters once again did better than the others. But the O-line once again did good and I am glad because lots of questions need to be answered along the line.
week 3: Bad is really all I can say about it, WAY WAY too many sacks on part of the oline. They better improve before the season starts. this was their first bad game and still more questions need to be answered.
Regular season:
1: A loss but it was close, looking for improvement come week 2.
2: A win, the injury bug got us a lot though, and it was almost a loss. But I will take it. Still more improvement is needed.
3: Blown in the final seconds. WE must fix these problems that continue to haunt us. Coach Smith has emphasized it, it is time for it to be fixed and now.
4: Frustration, we never gave up, but it was bad. Next game is a must win.
5: We lost...... A must win, 1-4 is not good, but the year can still be saved, the next 3 games are all must-wins if the season is to be saved.
6: Bye
7: A win, close but it needed to be done. Time to play away in ARI.
8: worst game of the year, and it ends our season I think, time to get killed by CAR.
9: shootout for tree, meltdown in 4. SEA probably will do exactly the same next week.
10: hey I was right. But who cares? We may actually win next week, surprise surprise.
11: Nope, time to die again.
12: Didn't die, but didn't win. Did prove we can compete next year. To Canada!
13: WE WON?! I know surprising, we can even put together a win streak if we play Flynn.
14: Nope.
15: Whale of a game, now time to get destroyed again by SF.
16: Lost with 1:20 left in the game, doesn't matter anymore. One last nightmare game and this season is over.
17: Bye Tony, we will miss you.
Final record: 4-12
Next event up: An off-season of holes to be filled.
