Take Lane Johnson or the best available CB because LT and CB are the greatest positions of need for San Diego. Panther is right, we won't take a RB in the first round. look at rd 2 You still have the round one pick wrong. If you could give us a T in round 2, why didn't you give us a T in round 1? In fact, why would you give the Chargers a RB at all. Mathews was disappointing last year, but we aren't going to replace him just like that. Also, the Chargers OL is part of the reason why he was so disappointing last year. On top of a horrid OL, our two starting CBs are free agents, our best pass rushing OLB is a free agent, we have three injury prone WRs and two ineffective WRs, we have two DTs heading to FA and Takeo Spikes is a free agent as well. I'm trying to understand why you think our first round pick should be wasted on a low priority position such as RB.

I seriously don't think he will. If the Chargers don't draft him here I would've given him to Cincinnati and then given Bernard to Atlanta. A trade back allows San Diego to get a starting LT, CB, and RB. Onto, DX. He was a Ram and I hated when the Rams released him. The Chargers struck gold by picking him up. He's had past injury problems and that's why he was originally released. If he stays healthy; he's a #1 receiver. In 8 games where he caught atleast one pass this season, he had over 650 yards receiving and like 7 touchdowns. He's easily a 1k receiever and at 6"5 he is everything anybody would want for a #1 receiver. Mevlin Ingram should be able to step up in his 2nd year, but I'm sure SD has the money to resign some of the FA's.

chargers can draft a 4th rd wr. DX was still getting used to the offense. If he stays healthy next season he's a top 10 wr, no doubt.
I bet his statline next year is around his statline for his career: 83 receptions, 1,395 yards, 16.8 avg, 10 touchdowns

Mevlin Ingram should be able to step up in his 2nd year, but I'm sure SD has the money to resign some of the FA's. Alexander does have everything anybody would want for a #1 WR except for a injury history that includes 5 knee surgeries. That is a serious red flag and he was cut because he couldn't stay healthy for the Rams. He's an injury prone WR. Ingram was solid his rookie season. Will he step up? Who knows. As for our salary cap and FA, our salary cap may take a few hits considering we will release a few players who are going to get guaranteed money next year such as Jared Gaither (locker room cancer) or Robert Meachem (a gamble that didn't pay off). Cutting players such as them, will seriously compromise whatever flexibility we have when it comes to FA. As for us drafting a RB, I don't even know if we will draft a RB at all because we can find a RB to push Mathews in FA if our new GM believes there is a RB to push Mathews and he doesn't even believe in using FA to build a football team. Trading back sounds nice if we miss out on Eric Fisher, but I assure you: we are not going to take a RB in the first. Eddie Lacy may be special from your perspective, but he isn't in ours. In your scenario, our first round pick must be used on a LT like Johnson, an OLB like Mingo, or a G like Cooper. Not a RB.

Fair enough, I will take your advice into consideration on my update next week, but that means that ryan mathews is still likely to be the chargers RB. I really don't like that guy lol

I really don't like that guy lol I'm having a hard time trusting him after he broke his other clavicle at the end of the season, but he has to prove himself to the new regime next season. If he doesn't, he's gone. He'll have his chance to prove himself, behind a (hopefully) improved OL and a coach who (might) utilize him properly.

Buffalo will most likely not take a OT in the first round, especially if Manti T'eo is on the board.
