The Rams have glaring weaknesses. We don't have a top 12 QB. Richardson could be a top 12 RB but he could be a flash in the pan. The best 3 starting OL aren't clear-cut top 12 at their position and the others are bottom 6 or worse. TE is a mess. WR Amendola is by far the best player on offense but he's a free agent and is unlikely to return - as is Jackson. Givens is a good #2 WR but he's not a top 30 WR. The rest of the Rams receivers are questionable. Defensively SS must be immediately improved. Mikell at FS might be cut because of his salary. He may well move on rather than re-sign. Dunbar was good at OLB but Laurinaitis had his worst year. 2 LBs will be added. The DL has talent but it's thin. The Rams record was padded by being one of the healthiest teams last year along with a favourable schedule where we caught the 49ers in transition and the Seahawks early on. Don't expect the Rams to break .500 next year unless the 49ers and Seahawks go backwards.
Ryan's gone. Don't hate us until we're good.

And an OLine that can protect him...

When Bradford felt comfortable he played well. When he felt uncomfortable he played badly. There were times when he wasn't under pressure and he seemed to panic. There were also times when he was under pressure and he looked cool as a cucumber. Physically he's recovered from his 2011 injury, (at least as much as he's going to. His mobility will always be restricted now). Mentally he's all over the place. You don't know how he'll perform on any given Sunday. Better protection and receivers would be nice, but it may not be enough.

You are not alone on that viewpoint. Earlier in the season I used to read a website called Turfshowtimes, and there was numerous people saying they wanted Daryl Richardson to get more carries and Steven Jackson to get less carries. There was a huge bangwagon forming all the way up to approximately week 6. However, I have to disagree with him being a top 12 running back. I personally do not think he is starting running back material. He's far too small, and I believe he's already hit his peak (exactly why I've placed him on the trade block in Plax's mock draft). I think Pead will eventually pass him up on the depth chart, but I don't think Pead is anything special either. At best, both of them are RB #2's in my opinion. My reasoning why is because Richardson is far too small, lacks great speed (he's got good acceleration), and he's below-average in blocking. He's not a featured back. I agree about the offensive line. However, I am optimistic because the OL coach Boadreau made that group of misfits play legit the later weeks of the season. There was a sack streak going on with Sam Bradford, and I think the final 2 games of the season Bradford didn't get sacked once. The offensive line should be addressed in rounds 3+ this year. That tri-brid guy that can play any position on the line looking enticing in round 3 or 4. TE is below-average. Kendricks is a being used as a versatile FB/TE it seems like. I think he'll progress more this season. Many Rams fans want Ertz or Eifert in RD 1. Amendola is the 2-3rd best player on offense. 1 is easily Steven Jackson. I was pushing for Jackson to get more carries earlier in the season in contrast to everybody pushing for Richardson. Richardson slowed down midway through the season and didn't look nearly as impressive as time went on. Jackson however, picked it up and notched his 8th 1000th yard season. I agree with Givens not being a top 30 receiver, but he is a great impact player. Craig Dahl is so funny to pick on, but it's true. He's not starting SS material. I want the Rams to draft Bacarri Rambo out of Georgia to replace him. He's holding the D back. The Rams Dl should be fine as long as they can resign Hayes. He was vital to the depth. Sims/Hayes/Cudjo were all legit depth imo. Some say Cudjo sucked, but I liked him for his run-d. Personally, I think Langford should be cut so that the Rams can resign all those players. I fully expect the Rams at the very minimum to finish 10-6 next season, aslong as they can resign Sjax, Amendola, Turner, and Hayes. There are no excuses when there is a 10+ rookie progression from this year, 2 1st round impact players next year, and continued built chemistry between everyone on the team and better understanding of the playbook. No chance the Rams go under .500, lift your spirits man.

Agreed Richardson and Pead aren't going anywhere. IDK what the the deal is with S-Jax. Far as I know, they wanna resign him. Far as I feel he will have a better year than last, call me nuts. Is Rob Ryan really there? As just DC? Serious?

The Rams reached a provisional agreement with Ryan for him to become the next DC. The 2nd meeting threw up differences to the point where both sides thought it would be best to go their own way. Richardson is an exciting prospect at RB. He could be a better version of Chris Johnson or he could fizzle out completely. My guess is that he's the real deal if used correctly. The Rams did that early but changed the system in mid-stream. He's not an patient off-tackle draw-play runner. He's an inside slammer with a small frame. Pead is a waste of space and will likely lose his 3rd string position. Jackson will be a free agent. He is under contract for $7M but the Rams have already said that he'll be released. If beastified is correct in his assessment the Rams will reconsider that plan. My guess is that he'll be 2nd banana next year unless he goes to the Packers, (which would be a good fit). I doubt he'll be offered more than $2.6M. He could conceivably find himself without a team at the start of the season. I thought he'd lost his speed. Even when he found space he struggled to gain more than 10 yards. Just an opinion. beastified's opinion is as valid as mine.
