I actually beat Brazil 1-0 in the knockout stage with the USA in career as a player. The only goal was scored in the 85th minute after Bradley headed in a shot that the goalkeeper parried from me. That by far was the toughest game I have ever played, simply because Brazil is so fast and their worst player is 82 overall. I ended up beating them 2-1 in the final minute of overtime, it was an extremely tough game to win.. I scored about 7 minutes into the game and held the lead for only about another 10 minutes (in game time not real time) and Neymar ended up burning my entire team down the sideline and riffling a shot off one of my defenders and in. My goal in overtime was scored by none other than Rojas who sadly got sniped from me by Baeyern Munich as I was trying to sign him on my club team. Then in the finals I played Uruguay which was a slight grudge match cause Suarez single handedly beat me in the F.A. Cup finals the past season with my Bristol squad.. Was a crazy game where they took the lead early and I tied it up.. they took the lead again and I tied it up.. Then with the game winding down once more Rojas came to my aid and scored the game winner in the 3 minutes of stoppage time just before going into overtime. Heck of a South America cup.. I am hoping that winning it will get me some offers from some other International teams this season. I really enjoyed playing with Rojas on Paraguay but I really disliked the rest of their team.. I would really rather be a European team as opposed to a South American team as I would end up with more competition over there than just the same 4 tough teams in SA..

In hindsight I maybe should of taken Belgium now thay I think about it. Courtois is probably in his prime now but im fine with Uraguay. The way I see it is if I do well at the tourney this year then maybe I can take over a powerhouse euro team for the Euros next year

Does anybody here do the player career mode in Fifa? I tried to start a goalkeeper career but I'm 99% sure that is broken. When your team is on the other side of the field trying to score, you can do nothing but just stand there and watch, and your match rating drops like crazy. Supposedly it's because I'm "out of position", but idk what position I'm supposed to be in when the ball is on the opposite side of the field... So I quit my goalkeeper one and created an attacking midfielder career. Only in the first season right now, and I'm on loan to Yeovil Town. It's pretty challenging. I'm supposed to be a playmaker and rack up assists, but it's hard to create chances when your in the middle of the field surrounded by opponents.

Is anyone having problems keeping players? 3 straight years I have had a regular starter try to leave Northhampton. The 1st time I just pushed it off because I was planning on selling him anyways. The 2nd time I didnt mind because I bought a better replacement in Courtois and I actually gained money after switching goalies. The 3rd time was too much though. It was a player I had since he was 16 and the 2nd best player I personally scouted.
I feel like it might be because they are international players but im not sure because each one has said they had a hard time adjusting and fitting in.

Cause I had this happen with my old 2013 Bristol Rovers team. First youth player I ever signed named Tomlinson. He started at 59 ovr and his potential was between 88 and 92.. He wasn't better than my starters but I played him anyway, in two seasons he went up to 75 overall and was my best player. He decided that he no longer wanted to play for Bristol and I had to sell him.. Luckily I got a boat load of money for him, but still I wanted him to stay with my team till retirement Then my ST who had terrible stamina complained I wasn't playing him enough cause I had to sit him often and forced me to sell him. Then a defender just wanted to go to greener pastures and so on and so forth.. Just seemed to be part of the game.

I feel like they have fixed that a bit in 2014. Some players still want to leave, but more often it is your backups... guys that want more playing time but aren't getting it. I don't remember if they had this in 2013, but I don't think they did; but in 2014 when you sign a player you can assign him a role: either Future Starter, Sporadic Player, Squad Rotation Player, Important Starter or Crucial Starter. Based on the role you sign them to, their morale is affected according to the playing time they receive. Good players will reject a contract that doesn't have them as a important or crucial starter often, so it can make it difficult to sign good backups, but I think it really improves the ability to manage your players better.
