Ugh.
Looking into next year, I’m in charge.
Fire Rivera, Chud, & McDermott. Hire a high energy head coach (like Mike Tomlin), hire a 4-3 DC that plays man coverage. Hire a pass first OC.
Cut / Trade: Jordan Gross Jon Beason DeAngelo Williams Geoff Hangartner Ron Edwards Garry Williams
Let them walk: Derek Anderson Gary Barnidge Ben Hartsock Sherrord Martin Louis Murphy Mike Pollak Jeremy Bridges
Try to re-sign them: Antwan Applewhite Dwan Edwards Captain Munneryln Jordan Senn
Draft:
1st – Luke Joeckel 2nd – Terrance Williams 4th – Bacarri Rambo 5th – Will Sutton 6th – Back up RG 7th – Back up TE
Free Agency: Grab a RG, veteran backup QB, and a new NT (1yr).
Bring up Tauren Poole to the roster to be our 3rd string RB.
Team would be:
QB – Cam Newton, Vet, & UDFA RB – Stewart, Tolbert, Poole/Smith WR – Smith, Williams, LaFell, Gettis, Adams TE – Olsen, FA, 7th rounder LT – Joeckel, Campbell LG – Silatolu, Zack Williams/FA C – Kalil, Jeff Byers RG – FA, 6th rounder RT – Bell, Campbell

If Rivera was a 4-3 defensive coordinator I would want him in Indianapolis...
And take Greg Manusky with you

Sad thing is, I knew that last Bucs drive in regulation was going to end with them scoring. I knew it before the illegal hit was called on Davis. I knew it before the Bucs offense even stepped on the field. Why? Because this is what we do. This makes the 5th out of the last 6 losses where we A. blew a 4th quarter lead with less than 3 minutes to play and lose, or B. have a good chance to take the lead on our final offensive drive and win but fail to do so. It's who we are now. Fucking choke artists who just can't hold it together.
And that call on Davis was horse shit and here's why. I wish I had a GIF to show, but you can just look at the replay and see. For one, Davis didn't lead with his head. In fact, he turned his head completely to the side and hit him with his shoulder. Yes, their helmets made contact but there's a reason why that happened and it wasn't b/c of Davis. The reason why their helmets hit was b/c when Underwood came down with the ball, he braced for the hit by LOWERING his head. Had he not lowered his head, it never would have gotten hit and Davis made every attempt to turn his head to side and hit with him with his shoulder pads... which brings me to my next reason why it was bullshit. Underwood was NOT a defensive-less receiver! He had time after catching the ball to take two steps, cover the ball, AND brace for the hit buy lowering his head. Even the commentators made a remark about how late the flag was thrown and how the ref that threw the flag only did so AFTER he looked back and saw Underwood lying on the ground hurt.
I'm all for calling penalties on intentional helmet-to-helmet hits, but that's the one thing that irks me about the unintentional ones that result in penalties that happen solely b/c the offensive player starts to crouch or fall down right before getting hit, resulting in the defensive player hitting his helmet. If the offensive didn't start falling, the hit would be in the numbers, not the helmet. Yet, it's the defensive players fault... even if he makes every attempt NOT to use his helmet like Davis did. That was a huge call that shouldn't have been b/c, with no timeouts and under a minute to play, it stopped the clock for the Bucs and gave them 33 yards. Had that call not have been made, our chances of winning would have been much higher.

I'll probably talk more about the game later, but this will be one of those games I'll forget quickly.

Was going to comment in there, but a Colts' fan posting in a Panthers' thread would look weird
You say about Sherrod Martin being a bad safety as well as Haruki Nakamura, but Charles Godfrey isn't a much improved version of them, Godfrey is a really bad tackler, they should be looking at some strong safeties Andre Neblett is a free agent in 2013, would you re-sign him? I didn't see you mention him Doesn't make sense to me that you're drafting a TE to be the third-stringer, even if it is in the seventh round. You should might as well sign an undrafted free agent
So, only Joeckel, Rambo and Terrance Williams will play the most as the newcomers, and don't know how the team would look like when you're firing all of your basic coaches. Voted minor improvement

I removed the part about they not firing Rivera. I thought McDermott was the one who kept calling the plays at the end of the Bears game
