argh... having such difficulty with AJ Green, haven't really been haggling with the Green owner, just skeptical at the price that I would have to pay to keep Green. Ok it's a salary cap dynasty league with a $250 cap, 0.5 ppr. All picks I list are purely estimates of where they would be for the rookie draft.
After an expired contract, the player is a RFA player. RFA players are entered into auctions, after the highest bidder has been determined, the original owner has the oppertunity to match or decline the salary offered.
Offer 1 was
I give: Cobb ($2/1yr), 1.1 pick ($10/5yrs), 1.2 pick ($10/5yrs), 2.1 ($5/5yrs)
I get: AJ Green ($10/2yrs)
Offer 2 was
I give: Tampa Mike ($18/3yrs), Cecil Shorts ($1/1yr), Andre Roberts ($1/1yr), 1.1 pick ($10/5yrs), 1.2 ($10/5yrs), Money Contract of $8/2yrs
I get: AJ Green ($10/2yrs), Dan Herron ($1/2yrs), Evan Royster (1/3yrs)
I'm at a bit of a cross roads, I'm not very fond of offer 1 mainly cuz Cobb was my 1 and only RFA target, I like offer 2 more, but just wondering if it is worth it to trade 2 1st round picks for a player that might be on my roster until the end of the 2013 year. My salary cap situation is always fluctuating... if I don't do the trade, I'll have maybe $20 for RFA with the 6 picks taking roughly $40 of my cap.
Some additional info just in case... I most likely own the top 3 picks of the rookie draft plus 6 of the top 15 picks. Rookie picks are cheap plus with the top 3 picks, I'm pretty confident on hitting it big.
Starting lineup b4
QB- Brady
RB- AP and CJ
WR- Fitzgerald, Cobb
Flex- Nicks/Spiller
TE- Graham
Starting lineup after
QB- Brady
RB- AP and CJ/Spiller
WR- Fitzgerald, Green
Flex- Nicks/Cobb
TE- Graham
All of my other starters are locked up for the next 3 years, including this year (other than Cobb of course). I'm 6-4 but tied for division lead and tied for the last bye.
Last point in case, I'm the commish of the league and that team has been absolutely gutted inside out. One of my FF friends was kind enough to take over the team despite it being horrible AND having no rookie picks within the 1st 2 rounds for the next 2 years
