the reds and pirates just dont stop winning, do they?
both of there schedule are very easy this month, so both teams could end up being being the best 2 teams by record in the NL if they are lucky (unlikely though)
barry larkin going in the HOF today. excited for that

Then they play the Cubs, Astros, and Cubs again. Then the Pirates and Reds meet the Weekend of August 3rd. Sadly, I will not be able to see that series since I will be out of town

Sadly, I will not be able to see that series since I will be out of town our schedule is just as easy. we already are pimpslapping the brewers this week, got the astros next, then the rockies, then the padres, and then you guys. you guys might get lucky seeing as joey votto will not be back that week. its all gonna depend on whom we have pitching that week

The rest of the NL Central better watch out. Starling Marte is now in the Major Leagues. On the first pitch he sees(which was also the first pitch of the game) he bombs it for a Home Run.

WOW thats impressive. not really. lets see how he does against a REAL team next week, if you know whom im taking about.

Yea, I figured someone was going to pull out the whole "well it is only the Astros" and I agree with you. However, it wasn't just the first pitch he saw. It was the first pitch of the game as he was the leadoff hitter. Marte is only the 28th player to have hit a Home Run on the first pitch of a game in Major League history and he is also the 110th player to hit a home run in his first at bat(both impressive statistics seeing as how long the MLB has been around). It will be nice to see him against some of the better competition in the NL Central and the MLB in general. Pirates fans have been anticipating Marte's callup for weeks if not months now as his upside has been said to be just as high as Andrew McCtuchen's, if not higher seeing as he has more power to his game. The Pirates now have one of the most promising young top-of-the-orders with Starling Marte(23), Neil Walker(26), and MVP front-runner Andrew McCutchen(25). All we need to do now is get a solid #4 hitter to give some security for Andrew McCutchen as teams are starting to realize(finally) that they have to pitch around him. The Pirates' future is brighter than it has ever been. And before you try to burst my bubble, you can hardly blame me for buying into the hype as the Pirates have had 19 straight losing seasons. It has been hard for Steeler and Penguins fans to deal with the fact that the Pirates have been the laughingstocks in the MLB for near two decades.

In response, how could you blame ANY Pittsburgh fan for buying into the hype that is the Pittsburgh Pirates? Not just us! Haha! Also a quick stat about Marte, I'm pretty sure there are only 7-8 guys where in their first at bat FIRST PITCH OF THE GAME, first ML start hit a home run. I'm really hoping the Pirates can snag Victorino. Would love to have Pence but too much to give. Huntington already said he's not going to mortgage this teams' future. Let's hope the Rockies can give the Reds a little bit of trouble please? They have to be a "little" stiff after their day off! And as for the Astros, you play the cards you're dealt...and damn! We got some nice cards!
