Jays lost in a shitty way tonight. Don't entirely agree with the call but I understand. Should have kept Donaldson at 3rd and had the game tied not called the double play. Anyways meh, on a happy note Sanchez looked badass! If he can keep it up this will be a good season. I am upset that we lost but completely agree with the call. I think every player who intentionally interferes with the thrower in those situations should be shot... But seriously, it should be an automatic double play. I HATE watching players slide cleats up, or just away from the bag, to take out the legs of the SS or 2B. Even though Bautista's slide wasn't aimed at the guy's legs, he stupidly reached out for his legs. Get that crap out of baseball. Be fast enough to run to second or be out. If the guys try to block the bag, then it's their problem, but if they straddle the bag or graze past it, leave them alone.

I don't really get Bautista's explanation for how his hand reached out in front of Forsythe (at least I think it was Forsythe) saying "I reached out to avoid injury myself". That is complete BS, IMO. What kind if injury were you trying to avoid buddy by reaching your hand out an extra few inches to actually MAKE CONTACT with the 2nd baseman, which probably increased the chance for injury?

I thought the rule was that you aren't supposed to slide at the runner. I didn't believe it involved all interference. I can't find the rule anywhere other than scrolling though the entire MLB rulebook where I couldn't clearly find it either. I thought the rule was made for player safety not to entirely remove the interference of the player. You can argue whether or it should be one way or another. I agree that players shouldn't interfer.

I'm so excited for the Padre season. We already set an all time MLB record this year. We hosted the biggest blow out with a shut out on opening day EVER. We are the only team in MLB to have yet score a run this year. I have been busy rehabing my mom from her stroke and my self also. Haven't had time to be here much. I owe saskabronco some answers to his questions. I'll try and get back to it. I do have a bad habit of not answering questions. I'll try and do better at that. Go Padres and take the Chargers with you. heehee not really I can't give up now. We will win a championship someday.

It was very obviously an attempt to obstruct the 2nd baseman. Whatever BS he said to justify it was just that... BS. It was a shitty way to lose a game, but we deserved to lose it because he did something stupid/against the rules. I would like to see suspensions start getting handed out for blatant obstruction or intent to injure on those plays. It's getting ridiculous.

Pirates sweep the Cardinals. Nice series against a division rival to open the season. We have to get out of our slow start habits.

Bottom of the ninth. Dodgers seven Padres zero. If we don't score here we will have started the season with three shut outs. That's not good.

Just last week, I made my predictions and said the Reds would be the worst team this season. Right now, the Reds are 3-0. Yes they played the Phillies, so maybe it doesn't matter. They get the Pirates, Cubs, and Cardinals in there next 3 match ups coming up. How they preform against those teams will show if the Reds are a fluke or not.

Early season MLB doesn't mean much.. not to dash your hopes or anything but normally the team you see the first half of the season is a very different one down the stretch. I've learned as a Jays fan not to get your hopes up until you are at least nearing the all star break. It's a long season.
