Yea just don't get the feeling chip will trade up for a QB. Especially not in this week draft class. What could possibly lead you to believe that chip isn't going to trade? Not only did he already make a wild trade for Bradford, he also offered the Titans possibly the biggest trade in NFL history for Mariota. The dude loves the idea of a the young franchise QB, and he's not wrong. If he could develop Goff into a star QB, there would be no price that would be too expensive to get him away from Cleveland. It's also WAY to early to call this draft class weak or strong. The draft process hasn't started yet. Chip isn't the GM.

I don't see him trading up in a week QB class. Especially with a QB in Kaepernick who fits his system really well.

Also, Jindred, Kaepernick doesn't really fit Kelly system that well. Kelly didn't run the read-option very much at all in Philadelphia, SF ran it constantly with Kaep in the last two years, and it rarely worked.

He had control over the roster when he did both things you claimed he did, if he even offered for Mariota. He doesn't have control of the roster in SF. Your examples don't match up. I sincerely doubt SF trades up.

I sincerely doubt SF trades up. First of all, there's no "if" he offered for Mariota, if you wanted to deny that, you should just do it. I'll be happy to link you lol, they're in my clipboard after Eagle tried to rewrite history. You don't know that he doesn't have the same level of control in SF. No one knows for sure how Baalke/Kelly is going to work. We've never seen anything like that in a GM/Coach relationship. But the head coach always has influnece over the draft strategy. If Kelly tells Baalke he wants Goff that badly, (and by the way, there's no reason to think Baalke even disagrees), then offers will come in. The question isn't, "will they offer?" It's "will they beat Cleveland?"

That's because the QBs in Philly were Foles and Bradford. Would you run a read with them? No. Also it's not too early to call the QB class week. None of the QBS this year showed all that amazingly in college which is by far the best way to accurately judge a QB. All the pro days and combine stuff means little comparitively.

Vick played what, 3 games for Chip? Exactly. If Chip wants a read option QB who can't throw, he'd have just kept Vick. Instead, he'll take the best QB possible. In this case, that's Goff by a mile.

Except that it will cost an arm and a leg for a team that has way more glaring holes than just QB. They need the picks. Also Vick only lost his job due to injury and the ridiculous season Foles had ensuing said injury. This trade isn't worth it for SF. Too much for a QB who will probably be a lower to mid level QB in the league.
