Here is the Titans schedule of opponents. I can't believe I didn't post this here yet.
Colts, Jags, Texans twice of course. At home we have Buffalo, Miami, Atlanta, Carolina and Oakland On the road we have New England, New York (the jets), New Orleans, Tampa Bay, and Cleveland.
We play our own division, the AFC East, the NFC South, plus the losers of the other two afc divisions, which are Cleveland and Oakland.
That's a VERY easy schedule. The easiest I can remember as a Titans fan. We play only three playoff teams. One is our own division winner, one is New England and the other had a losing record.
If Tennessee somehow turns it around in 2015, they have a very easy road to the playoffs. I don't think that we will unless Ken Whisenhunt is fired midseason or if we have a new playcaller at least. My prediction right now is 5-11. We get one win over Jacksonville, wins over New Orleans and Tampa Bay, and wins over Cleveland and the Jets.

Zach Mettenberger: 7 games played, 59.8% completion, 201.7 ypg, 8 TDs, 7 INTs, Rating: 83.4 Derek Carr: 16 games played, 58.1% completion, 204 ypg, 21 TDs, 12 INTs, Rating: 76.6 Those two stat lines are pretty much exactly equal with the only deciding factor being that Carr had a better TD/INT ratio than Mett, while Mett took less sacks which resulted in a better rating. However, Derek Carr was the starter the entire year and got an entire offseason of prep assuming to play after being taken at the top of the second. Mett was a sixth round project who no one thought would start. He was basically improving and had almost no practice reps until the week he was called to start. Furthermore, let's take a look at Derek Carr in just his first 7 games, since that's really more of an apples-to-apples comparison: Mett: 7 games played, 59.8% completion, 201.7 ypg, 8 TDs, 7 INTs, Rating: 83.4 Carr weeks 1-7: 7 games played, 55.1% completion, 216.1 ypg, 9 TDs, 5 INTs, Can't figure out his rating because I don't know that forumla. If we look at Mett vs Carr's 7 weeks, we still see that Mett had the better completion % but Carr threw more TDs. Bucky Brooks on Carr: "He's appeared poised and composed as the Raiders' young leader, playing well enough to win games in the NFL. If Oakland can hire the right coach to cultivate Carr's talent as a playmaker in the pocket, and if Carr can avoid trying to force balls into traffic, the team could finally have the building block it needs to end its decade of dysfunction in the AFC West." Bucky Brooks on Mett: "There was plenty of optimism surrounding this late-round pick based on his experience playing in a pro-style system at LSU, and he hasn't disappointed his supporters. The classic drop-back passer has compiled an 87.8 rating in six appearances (five starts), and his yards-per-attempt mark (8.3) leads all rookie starters. Those numbers speak to his understanding of a complex pro passing game as well as his grasp of coverages and defensive fronts. Mettenberger's superior arm strength allows the Titans to feature a vertical passing game on the outside. If he can learn when to be aggressive and when to be conservative from the pocket, he could be the right quarterback to run coach Ken Whisenhunt's system." Daniel Jeremiah on Carr: He needs to take more chances and push the ball down the field. He also needs to slow down at the top of his drop and throw from a more stable platform when the pocket is clean. Same on Mett: Since taking over the starting gig in Week 8, Mettenberger has been very up and down. He's able to squeeze the ball into tight windows on intermediate throws, and he shows nice touch on the deep ball. However, he has very slow feet in the pocket, locks onto his first read and forces too many throws. about 1 minute into this, Mettenberger hits Delanie Walker on the outside shoulder on a corner route in stride. That's an incredibly hard throw to make and he nails it perfectly with great footwork. I'm not sure Carr could do that because his arm strength just doesn't match Mettenberger's. Mett signature playThe very first play in this highlight real is what Carr will do. He doesn't have great arm talent, but he's incredibly good at reading defenses. He sees cover 1 in a five man rush and knows that he'll have the seam wide open, so he just lofts it deep and sure enough it's a big play. That's easy and good decision making can make up for almost any deficiency Carr might have. Carr's signature playcityofchamps, I think these two were pretty much equal in their first year if I'm trying to look at things objectively, and I don't think anyone could make an argument for Teddy B, Manziel or Bortles as being in the top two from the class. Certainly next year is going to determine things for both these guys (including if Mett gets screwed by the Titans drafting a QB). But I don't think it's fair to ridicule the idea that Mett was better since it was pretty much a coin flip, and one could really make the case for either. The reasons I lean towards Mett are because I'm a Titans fan mostly, but also because as I said earlier, Mett was a 3rd string QB who came in and played well with really no preparation, and that's really hard to do. If Mett gets another shot for Tennessee next year, I think he will outplay the entire 2014 draft class despite being taken in round 6.

This entire season was terrible, but it just got much, much worse. The Titans fired VP of Personell Lake Dawson, one of the only guys on the Titans who was notorious for getting it right. Supposedly he was the impetus behind draft Jurrell Casey and Avery Williamson and the signing of Bernard Pollard.
And as a result of his firing, Bernard Pollard has demanded his release and will not be with the team in 2015, saying, "Talk about the wrong guy getting fired. I can name a lot of players/people that should've been in that position today instead. Bad call. SMH at you all." He continued: "As a Titans fan, if you have ever sold your tickets to an opposing team and/or don't watch the games, how dare you blame me for wanting to win."
This is absolutely dreadful news for the Titans. Not only is Pollard one of the best players we have, he is a lynchpin of our team character, a leader of our boys, a fan favorite and one of our only great free agent signings during the Webster era. In 2013, Bernard Pollard was probably the league's best SS in the NFL, and he was playing at a very high level before sustaining an injury in 2014 and missing the rest of the season. Pollard had one year on his contract, and now he is done with the team. A Titan has fallen. No, he was stabbed in the back by a snakebit franchise.

Actually, I can understand firing Dawson. They put a bigger role in for Blake Beddingfield now, essentially promoting him at the same title, and BB is also a respect guy at least by me.

The news just broke on TitansRadio, Derrick Morgan played enough snaps to void the option year of his contract. As a result, Derrick Morgan is officially of the Titans roster. Between this and the Pollard news, that's devastating for our already weak defense. Only silver lining is that Derrick Morgan is very likely to resign with us. The biggest hold up is not money, but Morgan deciding if he wants to play in the 3-4 or the 4-3. Other news: ( patriotsk1d) reports say that if Devin McCourty does not extend with the Patriots as he is expected to do, Tennessee is #1 on his list because he wants to live with his mother and brother in Nashville. This has lead to speculation that LeBeau will move Griffin into the box at strong safety like he did at Texas, while Devin plays single high and does his thing. That's a dream scenario for the Titans, but I hope it happens.

Haha I didn't mean that Patriotsk1d reported that. Somethings just don't come across over a keyboard. I meant reports as a noun, not a verb.

Mccourty brothers are class acts though, I would gladly take Jason any day.

HUZZAH! It's a been a mixed bad this week for Titans fans, but some good news just came down the pipe. The Titans released RT Michael Oher, who was probably our worst starter and was certainly among the worst at his position in the entire NFL. This will mean that either the Titans resign Michael Roos to play RT, add a free agent, draft a big rook like Wisconsin's Rob Havenstein or Penn State's Donovan Smith, or just promote Byron Stingly to the role he's been filling in for the last two seasons.
No matter how we address the position, fans can rest assure that it can't be worse than it was in 2014.

The Pats take a 12.5 million dollar guaranteed hit if that extension or a cut doesn't happen before March 1st. You think a "3" year deal gets done in 6 weeks with the best player negotiator in football? I don't. I think Revis will take the money some where else. 18-20 million next year after coming off maybe his best year yet. Philly will restructure Shady, as hes already suggested himself, and Maclin will sign a 3 yr deal. Revis gonna be the next nnamdi, Chung, jenkins, VY, Babin bust. Shh
