There are some glaring misses here.
- Fran Tarkenton, for all he was, wasn't a great player with the Giants. He was a Viking. Sure, he played with NY for a little while, but it was only five seasons, versus 13 for Minny. Charlie Conerly is the other QB that needs to be on this team instead. - Two all time Giants are nowhere to be found, and really MUST be included on any all time NY team, and that's Frank Gifford (HB/WR) and Sam Huff (LB). No NY team is complete without those two. - Carl Banks was a better player than Brad Van Pelt, and would almost definitely be the starter there, unless Jesse Armstead was the guy, which he could be. - While he is present on the team at KR, Emlen Tunnell is one of the best DBs of all time. He's second ALL TIME in INTS...he would be starting over ANY of the others at Safety here. Of course he was a great PR also, but he could do both. - Rosey Grier, Andy Robustelli, Dick Modzelewski also missing... - Joe Morris - Alex Webster

On the contrary my friend did you know that Fran Tarkenton had a better passer rating with the Giants than with the Vikings? He led the league but once in passer rating and that was in 1969 with the Giants. Conerly played a long time with the Giants and had a good career record but that was more so in spite of him. He wasn't really a very good quarterback. 68.2 passer rating and 50.1% completion percentage. Nope, gotta stick with Tark for the 3rd stringer.
I like and respect Frank Gifford as much as anyone and he may deserve a spot on this team ahead of Ron Johnson. Although I do think Johnson had more pure talent. His 1970 & 72 seasons were probably better than any season Gifford had for them.
If Sam Huff would have finished his career with the Giants instead of playing his last 5 seasons with the hated Redskins he'd be on this team for sure.
Carl Banks was better at his best, but a bit inconsistent while Brad Van Pelt as solid a player has there is. Every year you knew exactly what to expect from him so he gets the nod. Jessie Armstead is backing up LT.
Rosey Grier was IMO overrated. I don't view him as any better than John Mendenhall with fewer games played.
Andy Robustelli might have made this team if not for spending his first 5 seasons with the Rams.
Dick Modzelewski, what is with your obsession with impossible names?? Seriously you need to seek professional help! Oy Not a bad player, nothing screams legend to me. I'll take Jim Burt anyday of the week and twice on sunday!
Joe Morris was a very good runningback. Short career with two excellent seasons (85-86). Personally I'll still take Ron Johnson based on his two spectacular seasons (70, 72) and a solid (73) season.
A solid player, Gifford lite. Two solid seasons in (61-62). Not quite deserving of a place on this roster.

Haha I had a friend that was a Giants fanatic who'd scream at Toomer every time he dropped a pass...

Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute...where is plax ? I don't think you can list Hakeem Nicks ahead of him. He's almost all but a bust far as I'm concerned. Yeah, Plaxico spent a bit more time with the Steelers, but he had 4 great years with the Giants til he shot himself in the foot, NPI. He won them that SB with that tiptoe catch in the endzone too.

Same thing I thought, but I figured that would be the reason for his not being included.

you just can't do these things by statistics. That totally ruins it. Kerry Collins brought the team to a super bowl and regardless of passer rating, the worst stat in football, Tarkenton wasn't a big deal for the franchise.
But my biggest complaint is this:
Where the fuck is Mark Bavaro? He's probably the second or third best Giant ever!

It could go either way. Both had two 1000 yard seasons. Nicks had a little more tenure with the team so I gave him the Nod.

If not that might be the overstatement of the year. He had one big season in 1986. Then a couple fair seasons in 87-88 and not much else. I'll take Jeremy Shockley over him. Not by a lot but he's marginally better.
