According to NFL.com. The Saints have placed him in season-ending Injured Reserve with a torn meniscus. Rafael Bush will replace him in the starting lineup.

This really sucks though. Our defense has had problems creating turnovers for the last couple of years, and Byrd was supposed to remedy that. Somebody else will have to step up. Bush is a solid player though. He was better than Malcolm Jenkins last year, so we should be fine at the position. Just not as good as we could be with Byrd.

You're welcome Saints fans. Like you wouldn't want him back. He was injured a lot in Buffalo too. As far as wanting him back, no. I wouldn't want him back. He didn't like it here in Buffalo, but I don't really blame him. He didn't like playing for a shit team with an even shittier front office that sold promises and couldn't win. And having Byrd on the Bills this year wouldn't make much of a difference anyways. The Bills are so bad, they're headed for a complete overhaul anyways.

That's fair, I guess. Byrd is still arguably the best free safety in the league though, and he would help any team. Your comment struck me as odd.

I wanted him in the off season(who wouldn't want Byrd and Berry? Would rival Seattle IMO) But I am glad we didn't break the bank for him, even if he was healthy.

Thank God for FF cause each and every year, football season would be excruciating for Raiders fans. It is anyway, but at least there is something. I want the Colts and Chargers in the AFC Championship game. Fuck the Raiders, the Broncos and the Patriots.
