I dont think you can rate players like this after 2 games. The first 2 games are an extended preseason.
We wont really know whos playing at a high level until at least week 6 or 7.
You also have to take into account gameplans, strength of opponent, coaching and the most important one of all....talent pool of players on the teams.
Which Eli has the least of except for Austin from the Rams.

Eli reminds me of Rivers in 2010 and 2011. He's capable of turning it around but we shall see if that happens. Plax I think you said Eli had the second most drops, who has the most? Drops can sometimes mean your timing and work with the receivers is sup par. Not sure who has the most. I didn't find it off of a list, it was a note under Eli on another page on PFF. And the drops the WRs had with Eli were just plain drops, such as Cruz on a 3rd down against ARZ and Randles against ARZ. I asked because the Chargers had six drops against Arizona. Other wise we would have won.

I think the best way to judge them is to think. Hummmmm If I had to pick a QB to play on "This" team who would I take? "This" team would be the same for each QB. Rivers for instance had two terrible years and was sacked and intercepted and fumbled a lot. Eli is in the same boat right now. Does not make him bad.

The one good player Eli has on the team keeps dropping passses. The rest of them yahoos couldnt find their way into the end zone if you gave them a map.

Thanks Bronco. That is what I was trying to say. But I disagree with the Chargers having four. I watched every play the last two weeks and I count at least six. But this says something also While it's easy to blame the wide receiver for dropped passes, but partial blame can sometimes fall on the quarterback.

Then where's Peyton? That's where the list becomes inconsistent. That statement was more in general, not necessarily regarding to this list. I agree Manning hasn't done anything to hurt his team. But PFF isn't inconsistent. They have a method, and they follow that method. They're not going to put Peyton Manning on the list just because he's Peyton Manning. If he hasn't looked great according to what PFF judges by, then they won't put him on the list, even if the PFF people themselves believe he is a top 10 QB. (in the regular way of judging QBs) pretty sure Peyton isn't on the list because he's still dominating as usual and that hasn't changed, 6 TDs and no picks thru 2 games arguably has him as the #1 QB right now. . Foles has dipped I figure. Eli had nowhere to go but up.

"3. Ryan Tannehill (MIA) +3.2 The controversial one. Already has lost 113 yards in drops which skews his numbers." Ya think?!?! Okay, so poor Tanny had incompetent scrubs to blame for dropped passes, and Eli..."He was 19-23 at halftime in the Arizona game until 5 dropped passes in the 4th quarter helped propel the Cardinals to victory." Well, that should probably put Eli well ahead of Tannehill. Trying hard to not made this sound like a hate post but... " In all honesty, I would agree that Eli is actually playing very well, and its good to see the analytics guys see it too." Who ARE these guys? My most positive spin on Eli... hard to judge in 2 games. Only caught a few minutes here and there. But nothing in 0-2 and close to last in every offensive category (20th in passing is their best) suggest he is top 10, even ATM. They don't even have the excuses some other teams do. You answered yourself with "who are these guys". They are people who go deep into analyzing players. In this case, they look at the play-by-play for all QBs. A lot of times, QBs that showcase good stats are not playing as well as the stats suggest, and vice versa. And your post justifies the article in itself. You are saying Eli's stats and record don't show he is playing at a top 10 level, and THAT is why the analytics are there, so help show people how someone is REALLY playing (and not just looking at a box score). Not really. "who are these guys" - I was being facetious, meaning i was not even familiar with the website, thus no credence as experts. Hey, I am as analytic as anyone, no lie. Now what? lol IDK what argument this/these so-called 'analytics' presented to support Eli/the team's performance as compared to any other team. Open to reasonable explanations. Ya know? Explain, analytics, the 5 dropped passes, and why Eli gets a pass on them. If I was a homer, I'd wanna believe whatever they said too. But when they list Tannehill at #3...IDK what to say here. lol Edit:... I dont think you can rate players like this after 2 games. The first 2 games are an extended preseason. We wont really know whos playing at a high level until at least week 6 or 7. +1 - except I give it til after this week - unless, as I hinted at b4, a team has a lot of extenuating circumstances (i.e. more than their share of injuries, susps, whatever).

Its pretty easy to find stats that will justify your argument, whatever that is. Whether it be basic stats, or advanced stats it doesnt really make a difference. Stats are pretty much useless, and I think this list backs that theory up.
