So my brother just got Madden 15 for the Xbox One and it has certainly lived up to expectations (the good and the bad). Here are my initial reactions so far (they are incomplete though).
The Good
The Good
- The Graphics are absolutely amazing. It is pretty much night and day between Madden 15 and Madden 25. There are also better camera angles with how you play which make it more encompassing and give a different element that you didn't have in Maddens past. The wrinkles in the jersey and the close up angle makes it that much more realistic
- The Kicking mechanics are the most improved feature IMO. You can get more accurate with how they have it set up. You don't just have the direction in which it goes in the air, but you can also aim to where it comes down on the ground with their new targeting system. Of course, it isn't perfect as they have 3 set spots along the line where you can aim for depending on the power of your kick.
- The interface is more player friendly than in years past. I think it is more simplified than in Madden 25.
The Bad
MORE TO COME!
- They still have those stupid default Connected Franchise rosters which I have always hated. They are different than what you get with the regular roster updates and make Fantasy Drafting almost pointless. I want to be able to use the actual in game overall ratings for every team in Connected Franchise. I don't need to see Ted Ginn rated an 86 overall, or have 10+ players rated 99 overall.
- The new Defensive mechanics are really more distracting than anything. I get annoyed seeing "Perfect" every single time the AI helps my player jump off the line the right way (which they do EVERY time even without my help). The gameplay is also too quick to take advantage of the aiming system. Maybe I might get used to it, but it reminds me too much of the QB Vision thing they brought out in like Madden 06.
- It is still easy for me to make mistakes with play calling. The setup is a little weird with the enhanced play calling and you can easily mix up which button equates to which play. I have also accidentally pressed RB instead of RT, which instead of switching my depth chart positions, I called a Spike on 3rd Down and lost that down.
