See, I told you idiots. There is no way that Johnny Manziel was going to start the regular season, no matter how much hype he got. I am now 100% sure that Johnny Manziel isn't going to start unless Brian Hoyer flops to the point where he is hurting the team. From a Head Coach's standpoint (and not the fans'), starting Manziel Week 1 would be asinine. Why would you start a rookie, who hasn't played in an NFL Offense before, over someone like Brian Hoyer, who has had starting experience for this team in actual regular season games and shown last year that he deserves a chance to be the starter? Logic dictates that Hoyer should be the starter unless he loses the job.
The Cleveland Browns reportedly don't want to start Johnny Manziel in the Week 1 matchup at Heinz Field unless absolutely necessary.
According to Ryan Wilson of cbssports.com, the organization realizes that Brian Hoyer could give their team the best chance for victory, even if he isn't the most talented quarterback on their roster.
Browns coach Mike Pettine told reporters, "It's just something right now where we are comfortable with Brian going out there to start the game."
As for work in the preseason, Pettine continued, "I think it's a little overblown as to who the starter is going to be. The key component, as I've stated earlier this week, is that we are going to balance the reps."

If you say so kid. 3 weeks before the the game, you're 100% and we are idiots for thinking Johnny gets the start?
Its not even week 2 of the preseason yet. Chill out. And don't cry when I bump this thread when you're wrong.

I dont recall anyone saying Manziel was going to start week 1.
I do recall you ripping on Cleveland for not taking a QB at 8, and then you complaining when they did take one at 22.
There was no way the Browns could make the right move in the eyes of Steelers fans.

Besides I have been touting Hoyer for the past 4 years. I dont remember anyone ever agreeing with me when I said how good Hoyer could be when he was backing up Brady.

Who in their right mind would throw a rookie QB (who isn't a Top 5 pick) with as much hype as Johnny Manziel does right into the fire against Dick LeBeau and the Steelers D (which is 15-2 against rookie QBs) Week 1? That is just setting him up for failure.

Throwing out stats implying they're throwing a rookie into the fire of atleast a post season team. So If they're going to be afraid of 8-8 teams, they might as well not drafted the guy.
