1) What is it basically? 2) When does it start? 3) How many make it the cut?
I know these are new rules, so IDK if anyone here has a clue. But it looked important enough for its own little thread. Are all the drivers that don't make it eliminated from participating any further? Like what if it narrows the field to 15 guys, and we've used up all our Jimmies, et al? But I must be totally off base here, cuz seems like after Dillon and Larsen, the C list is done. Unless... fantasy just hasn't caught up with the new rules. lol

The Chase is NASCAR'S version of the NFL Playoffs & Super Bowl It starts with the last 10 races of the season 16 Drivers will make into the Chase and drivers will be eliminated after each round Races #27-29 will be known as the Challenger Round Races #30-32 will be the Contender Round Races #33-35 will be the Eliminator Round Race #36 will be for The Sprint Cup Champion
No the rest of the drivers are not eliminated from participating any further they will be racing only for final position and for owner point standings.

And for the money I guess. lol Thanks much for the explanation. Now, i know nothing really about what the rewards or stakes are for winning the Championship. But my gut feeling is this is where teammates get a little more involved. If that's the case maybe anticipate a lot more whining. Wonder if all that would be considered collusion or just good strategy - not that you could prove anything, or even if it would matter, technically speaking. Does that make sense, or am I goofy? lol

Through out the whole season drivers are racing for position and yes money, the higher up they finish the more money they make. Team mates are fine in the garage and when their set-up is a little better then yours sharing any information that might help. But once they get on the track and the race starts it's every driver for himself, yes they will help each other out from time to time but only if it doesn't hurt their chances of winning or gaining the best possible finish.. No your not goofy.

Oh, but I'm goofy alright. lol Like I said "Now, i know nothing really about what the rewards or stakes are for winning the Championship." IDK the implications of the whole 'team thing' to begin with. Probably the owners of the team are more concerned ($$$) than the individual drivers. Thanks again!
P.S. The ownership of their individual cars also confuses me further, but it's a business, probably a bit more complicated than meets the eye. IDK even how many actual cars is 'one car'. It could be one for all I know, but I don't think so. lol
