Agreed Morkim.
Wow Mexico got screwed out of two goals in the first half. I know that offsides are very difficult to call because it requires the linesman to watch two things at once; where the players are standing and when the ball is kicked, but twice the ref got it completely wrong and that could cost Mexico a lot. They are by far the better team so far though.

Mexico wins 1-0. I thought the game would be tied at the end. Cameroon had two good shots at it. Solid defense.
Should have been 2-0 or 3-0 though. Mexico had the game from the start.
Edit: least you can't really blame Cameroon's Keeper

That was an exciting opening match! Did anyone else watch? Brazil owned most of the game, but Croatia's defence kept them at bay until a really poor call by the ref gave Brazil a penalty shot midway through the second half to take the lead 2-1. After that Croatia pushed to equalize and Brazil caught them off guard with a quick counter to make it 3-1. Take home messages for me: 1) Brazil has a ton of talent 2) Brazil was extra Whitney and extra divey today... Makes me root against them. Goooo Mexico & Cameroon! 3) Croatia's defence was quite good, even though the team as a whole was completely outmatched. Cameroon and Mexico are two offensive minded teams with far less talent than Brazil... It Croatia plays the same way against those two teams, they could definitely move on to the next round. 4) Croatia's keeper is awkward. He made some nice saves, but he had really shaky hands and poor range. Both the first and third goals likely would have been saved by one of the elite keepers in the tournament. The first goal he just wasn't able to extend all the way and the third goal he reacted too slowly and also didn't extend well. Even the penalty shot goal he dove the right way and got his hands on the shot, but his hands were too flimsy and the ball basically went right through them. If Julio Caesar was in net for Croatia, that might have been a 1-1 game instead of 3-1. I play keeper often, so I am generally quick to defend them rather than blame them... But this time I think he did not play well. Brazil being talented is a gimme, but they were playing some young players I had never heard of so I had kinda sorta wrote them off. I should have known better. A lot of those guys impressed me though. Particularly Oscar. He played outstanding yesterday, and I'm not just saying that because he scored the match sealing goal. He had complete control of the midfield the whole game, and was instrumental in one of the goals that Neymar scored.

Wow, I haven't heard of a lot of these guys playing for Holland. Spain's natl team hasn't changed much though.
I used to follow soccer pretty closely about two years ago, but I stopped for some reason. Seems a lot has changed in those two years..

Am I the only one that feels Wesley Snyder (sp) is one of the most underrated players? Really love his game.
