What does Goodell have too do with this? I think it is ridiculous that Goodell somehow gets blamed for almost everything. Goodell can do nothing at the moment because of the way the CBA is written. He shouldnt be able to do anything right now because Rice hasnt even been charged for anything. I do not think anything is being "swept under the rug" as Rice has not been charged with anything yet. Right now there is very little information, all I have seen is a video of rice barely moving an unconscious women. It is way to premature to believe that Rice is even responsible for any of her alleged injuries. I am not saying Rice wont be found responsible for his fiance's injuries, but as of now there is no reason to believe that. Roger Goodell basically has all the power (in principle) when it comes to handing out punishments. The so-called "committee" that is supposed to be able to regulate that power is pointless as well since he has the power to overrule their decision. Naturally, everything gets blamed on him as it should. Like I said. Police have said they have obtained video of Rice hitting her and knocking her out. No, they haven't released it, but I don't see why they said they have it if they really don't (there is really nothing to gain and everything to lose in that situation). If there is indeed proof as is indicated, then Ray Rice should be at the very least suspended for 8 games if not more. The NFL needs to do something about this ever-growing problem that NFL players have with self-entitlement and feeling that they are above reproach and the law. Did they describe, in detail, what they have on the tape? Do we know what specifically happened in the altercation? There is far too much unknown to jump to a conclusion. CoC you are taking this way too personally. How long did it take the Hernandez thing to play out, and he was accused of murder, among many other things? Give it time before you start screaming for Goodell's head for another reason. You lose a lot of credibility when you react so harshly. If Rice is in fact guilty of domestic violence, then I hope he gets what is coming to him and I am sure that he will. Until then, just calm down. And comparing hitting someone to raping someone? Do you honestly, honestly believe that? That is an absurd comparison. Fights happen all the time. They aren't good and, especially when it is a much bigger, stronger person beating on a weaker person, there should be punishments dealt out. But are you honestly saying that you would be no more bothered by a guy who punched a girl than a guy who raped a girl? They are both bad but one is sooooooo much worse.

Ben put himself in position to be accused of two separate rape allegations in a matter of months. At the very least he put himself in a bad position on multiple occasions. He was lucky too only get suspended 4 games if you ask me. Either way it isnt as if Ben was suspended within a couple of days after his incidents. I dont get how anyone can blame the NFL for not doing anything immediantly. I am not saying and did not say anything about anyone being punished immediately. All I said that there would be a crazy amount of injustice if nothing was done about Ray Rice's incident if he is indeed proven guilty. What is the point of making a thread called "Why is there not more outrage against Ray Rice?" if what you just said above was your only purpose? This started out with you baffled that the Ravens haven't cut him yet... Word for word, "The fact that the Ravens aren't cutting him for this is despicable. Sure, cutting him would result in a $14 Million cap hit, but if they were any kind of decent, they would accept that like how the Patriots did when they cut Aaron Hernandez." That sounds like you want him to be punished immediately, and it sounds extremely homerish, whining that "It's not fair, because they did it to Ben." Ben was a different situation that got handled the way it needed to be. This will too.

Reports claim that Police have a video of Rice knocking her out. I dont see why people are so quick to believe reports like this. These things are wrong all the time. When more information is released directly from the source, and this video is released, then I will judge. Until then I have no reason to believe Rice was in the wrong, and neither does anyone else. And too my knowledge Rice has no criminal record, and no prior NFL suspensions. Please tell me why it would be fair for him to be suspended 8 games, and Ben only 4?

If Rice isnt proven guilty he deserves to be handled fairly and quickly by the NFL, as he will. Right now all we have is a report from TMZ, and a bad quality video from a security camera that basically shows nothing. But it is way to early to determine anything at the moment.

This absolutely astounds me right now. The way this is being treated is it is almost like they are trying to wipe this under the rug. Ray Rice, who has been one of the premier Running Backs in the NFL over the past 5-6 years and was a part of the Super Bowl Champion Ravens 2 seasons ago, was caught ON CAMERA dragging his unconscious wife out of an elevator after also being caught ON CAMERA knocking her out (police have not released the video). I just don't understand why people are not more outraged about this. Ben Roethlisberger was just only accused by women, who dropped the charges later on, was initially suspended 6 games (almost half an entire season) for that, when there was no conclusive proof. Everyone remembers that complete outcry and how it was on the news all day every day (that discussion is for another thread). Now here is something where there is ACTUAL PROOF and it is being pretty much ignored by the general public (especially in a time in the NFL where there is very little news going on). The fact that the Ravens aren't cutting him for this is despicable. Sure, cutting him would result in a $14 Million cap hit, but if they were any kind of decent, they would accept that like how the Patriots did when they cut Aaron Hernandez. Sure call me a homer/hater and all that, but if nothing is done about this, the injustice of it is insane and it should further lower Roger Goodell's credibility in not being able to deal with the players in the NFL who think they are above the law. ..until I see the evidence of him hitting her and that it was uncalled for and not in self defense...we should hold judgement. BBC..bitches be crazy CoC.... What does bother me is how he 'dragged' her....pick her up Ray!!! Your a strong lad...idiot.

In the words of an NFL Scout at the combine this week, "No one cares about Johnny Manziel partying. We take guys that beat their girlfriends and shoot up on the weekends. If they get caught, it's not the scout's problem." The NFL is a dark place. That's exactly my point. The NFL's stance on all of this is further enabling these guys to ignore the law and act however they want. Thats how you get guys like Richie Incognito and Aaron Hernandez. You don't see this NEARLY as much in other sports like baseball, basketball, and hockey. Sure with baseball, you have guys who get suspended for PEDs, but those aren't necessarily illegal in the real world (as far as I am aware). You almost never see a hockey player get arrested. It is rampant in the NFL.

They were talking about that on the radio show I listen to. There were some pretty fired up people. Even some Ravens fans. I have not seen the video of him dragging her have you? What I heard though was they weren't sure there is a video of the punch. I think the NFL may be waiting for the video. I think Ray may be in big trouble. Here is the video of him dragging his fiance out of an elevator. Police have obtained video of him knocking her out, but haven't released it to the public. www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-report-video-ray-rice-20140221,0,4853128.story#axzz2u1CwG1eA Link doesn't work.

In the NBA there is a maximum of 15 players on the roster, in the NHL there is a maximum of 23 players on a roster, and in the NFL there is a maximum of 53 players on the roster. The arrest/player percentage is pretty much identical in every pro sport.

There's no out rage likely because he had a pretty bad season. Ray Rice himself has been swept under the rug.

For those who may not know, R Rice is actually of Indian descent and will probably get away with it. His tribe is The Punch-a-Hoe tribe which are in close relation with the Choke-a-Hoes.
