This absolutely astounds me right now. The way this is being treated is it is almost like they are trying to wipe this under the rug. Ray Rice, who has been one of the premier Running Backs in the NFL over the past 5-6 years and was a part of the Super Bowl Champion Ravens 2 seasons ago, was caught ON CAMERA dragging his unconscious wife out of an elevator after also being caught ON CAMERA knocking her out (police have not released the video).
I just don't understand why people are not more outraged about this. Ben Roethlisberger was just only accused by women, who dropped the charges later on, was initially suspended 6 games (almost half an entire season) for that, when there was no conclusive proof. Everyone remembers that complete outcry and how it was on the news all day every day (that discussion is for another thread). Now here is something where there is ACTUAL PROOF and it is being pretty much ignored by the general public (especially in a time in the NFL where there is very little news going on).
The fact that the Ravens aren't cutting him for this is despicable. Sure, cutting him would result in a $14 Million cap hit, but if they were any kind of decent, they would accept that like how the Patriots did when they cut Aaron Hernandez.
Sure call me a homer/hater and all that, but if nothing is done about this, the injustice of it is insane and it should further lower Roger Goodell's credibility in not being able to deal with the players in the NFL who think they are above the law.

I think it's just that we don't know what really happened yet. Maybe I just don't know what happened yet. I'm not sure. Nobody wants to rush to judgement when rape or sexual assault it a possibility, that is the only the media isn't more all over it than they were.
Please, don't try to use this as cover for Roelthisberger. They have nothing in common.

They were talking about that on the radio show I listen to. There were some pretty fired up people. Even some Ravens fans. I have not seen the video of him dragging her have you? What I heard though was they weren't sure there is a video of the punch. I think the NFL may be waiting for the video. I think Ray may be in big trouble.

The Ravens should cut him? lol.
I do not agree with what Rice did, but you are comparing what he did to what Ben did, which is laughable. Rice got in an altercation with his fiancee. Ben forced someone against their will and sexually assaulted them. And it is almost impossible to prove that someone raped you.
Are the Steelers an indecent franchise because they didn't release Ben?
You can bring up what Rice did, but you lose any credibility in trying to use Ben Roethlisberger and not even noting that raping someone gives you jail time easy.

The fact remains that there was no proof or evidence and the charges were dropped. Sure there are differences in the scenarios, (Ben being a superstar QB for example), but that could have also brought it on in the first place. Again, I am not trying to cover up for Ben. I am just furious over the fact that something like this where there is proof is not being treated as a situation with questions about it like Ben's was.

So you are saying domestic violence should not be treated as serious as rape? They are on the same level in my eyes.

That's exactly what I mean. Was it sexual? Were they (or one of them) intoxicated in way? Was Ray defending himself? (I find that last one unlikely). There's like a million things we don't know about this situation. However, I'm taking CoC's argument over Plax's. Rice needs to be punished by the league in someway and, unfortunate as it is, roelthisberger is not guilty until due process is applied. Who are we to judge him? How do you know that woman wasn't a golddigger plax? you don't. None of us do b/c the proseuction fucked up the case against him. And it's not that hard to prove rape beyond a reasonable doubt, unless it wasn't really a rape case.
