Manningham deal is practically a no risk deal that has the potential to bring a very nice reward.
Giants have just under 5,000,000 in CAP to spend on FAs.

the Robert Ayers signing was great for the Giants. he is almost a direct replacement for Tuck in terms of what they bring to the table. they are both top tier run stoppers. Ayers finished one spot lower on the PFF run defense grade compared to Tuck (Ayers finished 9th, Tuck finished 8th). both are also good for some pass-rushing ability. Ayers posted 5.5 sacks last year in limited action, while Tuck posted 11 sacks (however, he posted 4 of them in the 2nd WSH game). the one thing that Tuck has over Ayers is leadership quality, but Rolle has always been the leader of the defense, and Beason is taking over that role too, as well. Ayers, however, is 3 years younger than Tuck. And Ayers is making 2mil per year while Tuck is making 5.5mil per year.
a good signing by the GMen.

OTA Notes (and some general news regarding the team):
- Safety Will Hill has been suspended for the first six (6) games of the season.
- Quarterback Josh Freeman was released by the team, with some saying he was not a fit for the offensive system and struggled to pick up concepts.
- Guard Chris Snee and Safety Stevie Brown both participated in OTAs without any limitations, a great sign considering the offensive line needs help and the Giants need guys at safety with Hill gone.
- Running Back David Wilson hopes to be cleared for contact next week, and has been fielding some kickoffs thus far.
- It is being reported that the Giants offense looks very "west coast-like", with the vast majority of the plays being run including three (3) Wide Receivers.
- Eli Manning is having no issues coming off ankle surgery and has been taking all of the snaps he usually takes.

New York Giants safety and team captain Antrel Rolle wondered aloud Thursday why his teammates aren't doing what they need to do to stay out of trouble in the wake of the drug suspensions to cornerback Jayron Hosley and now-former teammate Will Hill.
"It's too easy to do right to keep doing wrong," Rolle said on the topic of two members of the Giants' secondary receiving drug suspensions in the course of a week. "We don't need to have that pub, people asking, 'What's up with the secondary?' That's a bad reflection. It doesn't look good."
Hosley apologized publicly Thursday for his four-game drug suspension. Coach Tom Coughlin explained Hill's release by saying too many suspensions had rendered Hill unreliable.
On Friday, the league announced that Hill would be suspended for the first six games of the season for violating the substance-abuse policy. It's Hill's third drug suspension in three years, and on Monday the Giants waived him, sick of his inability to avoid suspensions even as they supported him through his continued off-field troubles.
Had to cut and paste this for Plax.

Just listened to an interview with Giants LB mark herzlich(sp)...He's got a book out about his story. Cancer survivor....very cool story from what he displayed. On a sad note, the NFL gave the Falcons the hardknocks coverage for this season. Giants hopefully get it next year.
