The start of the season is always a Leafs fan's favorite time. We always seem to look good for the first 20 games. Then we fall apart, but only to the extent that we leave ourselves juuuuuuuuuuust out of reach of a playoff spot. It's always still statistically possible, just highly unlikely. Then we play solid for the last 20 games, but it's never enough to make the playoffs. If only every season was 40 games long (like last season)!! This turned out to be deadly accurate.. I've lived the pain long enough to understand it well
