I think this is a great move for the Bucs. Glennon can't make every NFL throw, but his arm strength and zip on the ball are going to make up for that initially. Normally, that sounds like Jamarcus Russell, but when you have big athletic targets like Glennon will, it doesn't really matter. Locker's accuracy was really bad last year, but he just put the ball high for Jared Cook and Kenny Britt and it worked. Innacurate QBs tend to hand off the ball a lot (Doug Martin), and lay the ball up for tall receivers (Vjax 6'5'' and Mike Williams, 6'2''). I think Glennon could start winning immediately even though he isn't the most talented guy. He's a great fit in Tampa's system and that's why they drafted him.
As far as what this means for Freeman, I think the Bucs might shop him before the trade deadline. He would definitely get some interest to backup an elite QB and receive mentoring from a guy like Manning or Roelthisberger. The best spots for him would be New Orleans and Atlanta, but I doubt tampa would deal a former 1st round pick inside the division. I'm not sure he'd be the starter on any team in the league. Maybe if he went to Minnesota or Jacksonville? If I were one of those teams, I'd give up a 4th or 5th round for him. I doubt he stays in Tampa because of his huge cap number.

That's too bad. Freeman spent his entire NFL, what little there is I guess, basically on the fringe. Never amazing, but frequent enough 'above average' performances to keep fostering glimmers of hope. I'd agree there would be interest in him today, even as immediate starter. There are always coaches with blind optimism, or pompousness, or delusions of grandeur - with the attitude that they will be the ones ho could turn him and their team around, and be heroes. I could be wrong. But a relatively large # of teams this year in dire straits at the position, and probably willing to roll the dice. But what would make anyone think they are ready to trade him? Glennon is still an unknown, much less 'answer'. If they think they can get that answer before the trade deadline, and that looks conceivable that that's their thinking, eh.

You say he can't make every throw, which is a sign of weak arm strength, and then you state his arm strength is going to make up for that.

Before the draft, he was my #1 QB until reports of his lack of route anticipation, mobility, and ball placement (not exactly accuracy but sorta) MarchingOn
