pretty good deal for the pens looks like they are going all in for the cup this year, even giving up their 1st round pick for an old forward. But he does still have gas in the tank. Hey and just think they are doing what they are doing with malkin out for basically a month. scary

The Penguins have traded for Jarome "Iggy" Iginla from the Calgary Flames. Now this is just getting silly...

I'm thinking people are overreacting to the Iginla and Morrow trades.... Neither has been playing at a high level.

I'm thinking people are overreacting to the Iginla and Morrow trades.... Neither has been playing at a high level. Well Iggy has been playing on a shit team. The likelyhood is that he plays on a line with someone far better than they players on Calgary. Iggy also ads toughness to a team which had little of it before. Morrow was on a better team but not that much better.. He had some good players to play with but still he ads toughness and good play along the boards. Iggy and Morrow are still two very talented players and add depth, skill and leadership to an already very good team.

Not denying they add something missing, but not really players that are going to be "impact". It's also hard to foresee the Eastern Conference winning the Cup this year. It's, by far, the weaker of the two conferences and, for all the talent Pittsburgh has, they are also not having their defense challenged. In past seasons, that was their biggest weakness and I don't have a lot of faith in that back-line.

iginla is having a decent year. hes not what he was and is not worth a 1st round pick. But it does fill a gap and improve the pens chances of taking home the cup. Still think chicago and anehiem are better
