Players who played well for Carolina:
Charles Johnson - Damn did he play good! Great pass rushing and nice in the run game. "King Charles", as he was called by a fan tweeting about the game, is my MVP of the game.
Triple Trouble (Stewart, Williams, and Tolbert) - Williams had a few good runs to the outside (not many to the inside, if any IIRC), got a fair amount of yards and caught one touchdown from Cam. Stewart saw limited action because he strained his left calf, but he had consisent 5+ yards and scored once. Tolbert looked really good aside from his fumble, a bowling ball describes him best. He's big and fast for his size.
Cam Newton - Cam played really well in time he saw, the majority of the first half. Cam made muiltple nice throws deep and short and tossed a short pass in the flat to DeAngelo Williams.
The First String Offensive Linemen - First few minutes, played great, next minute, played spotty in the run game, after that, they played GREAT pass protecting. Gave Newton plenty of time, and didn't allow a single sack on Newton or Derek Anderson.
Louis Murphy - Still impressing me, I have heard people say LaFell has the #2 WR job 'locked'. I am not one of them. He might start the first few weeks, but Murphy will play better and win out.
Frank Alexander - I was impressed with him today, last week he didn't do much, but this week he played well. Although he mainly showed up playing the second stringers, Alexander might be the starting DE opposite of Johnson, and we might throw the 299 pound Greg Hardy inside to play some UT (a position of weakness). Our starting lineup of the future might be (from right to left): Alexander, Hardy, Fua, Johnson.
Thomas Keiser - Cha cha cha chia! Again Keiser steps up with a sack late in the game. He didn't play great but he played well.
Jason Phillips - Phillips played very well at LB, Beason and TD are still out, so the starting linebackers were Phillips, Kuechly, and Anderson. Both Kuechly and Anderson saw limited action, but Phillips played most all of the game and played well. He filled the gaps and made tackles.
R.J. Stanford - Stanford got the game winning INT in the Panthers end-zone with 4 seconds left. Clutch play might of let him make the team. Him, Darius Butler, and Josh Thomas will be fighting for the #5 and #6 (might not carry six) roster spot.
Players who played poorly for the Panthers:
Derek Anderson - Last week, I thought he played really well, better than Cam. This week, he played poorly. He wasn't bad, but he most certainly was not good.
Jimmy Clausen - No comment needed.
Bruce Campbell and Garry Williams - Both backup tackles played poorly this game, allowed a fair amount of pressure. Having Jimmy Clausen doesn't help, but that is not an excuse.
The announcers - Announcer: "Gary Barnidge could start for most other teams."
